Listen I HATED the O hire. But to group everyone in one lump group is just as retarded as this arse hats statement (op quote).
O has surpassed everyone's expectations but anyone that wasn't hesitant on the hire AT THE TIME are the retards. No one ever could have predicted the outcome. The second all time vote leader for the Heisman. Pretty much short of a asteroid hitting Earth a national championship.....no fricking body could have seen that coming. So let people have their doubts. Let people voice their concerns...to me it means they are tiger fans and want the best. If not then they would wear crimson windsuits and call finebaum everyday. ROLL TIDE WHAT??? frick YOU

I never gave him a chance. I’m not an avid poster so not sure what I said on here at the time, if anything. But I’ve had my crow and it was the most delicious crow of all time. Dude proved me wrong and then some. Happy to cheer loud as hell for the man these days.

It was not dumb to not like the Coach O hire. It was not a good hire in the moment because of the incompetence surrounding it.

However, we are all glad Coach O proved us wrong.

I've read this site for a long time and rarely post. While not entirely accurate, this is one of the best posts I've ever seen on this site in the 12 years I have lurked.

I dont know. I like the Cregg, Bush and Nusmeier hires.

Based on salary, look for an Ensminger return to form and Nusmeier promotion to OC (USC tree, RE Sark, NC with Saban, Harbaugh's offense).

The emphasis on the trenches is where it needed to be. Bet we get a transfer at QB. 2 lock down CBs (w/2 in reserve) suffices.

Maybe Cajun Dinardo is better than the orig? Maybe we become the thug U we were meant to be under Cookie Monster?

By the end of next season, maybe we'll all be wearing those white shrimp boots to Tiger Stadium...GEAUX!!!

To say that anyone who wasn’t hesitant about the hire were retards is pretty ignorant.

Listen, I’ve been an LSU fan longer than some of these posters have been alive... I wanted O to get the job and was excited when he did.

Now I was hesitant about that before I sat through several coaching clinics and walked away more impressed by O than any other coach I had heard speak. Most folks here have heard the anecdotes of him learning how to be a head coach, but to listen to it in the clinic while he explains in detail what he didn’t do, why that hurt, and then the changes he made to himself before landing the USC job. The detail he had when referencing that was impressive.

I haven't been caught in any of these bumped threads but I was outspokenly critical of the hire. I felt like giving O a chance up until the Troy loss when I openly called for his head.

I was wrong. I wanted Herman and I was pissed that Alleva let Texas sandbag us. I was wrong. Herman is a bust who is already firing his entire entourage of assistants and O is firing on all cylinders headed towards a national championship in a more difficult conference. I was wrong.

I bitched on tRant and even emailed Rabalais and Kleinpeter and Scott long after the Troy loss to vent my utter disgust, and they all emailed back, surprisingly, in agreement. We were wrong.

Fact is, there was more reason, by far, to doubt Orgeron than there was to believe in him. So many of us doubted him. I guess tDecline under Miles' last few years did that to us. We were wrong.

No other coach in the nation could have put this season together so magically and fortuitously than O. He kept recruiting at a high level. He brought in the right staff additions. He snagged the best transfer in CFB history. He improved every area of weakness that he has ever shown.

I was wrong.

I'm not regretful that I doubted Orgeron's hire. I would have had my doubts 100/100 times. So I will reiterate, I'm not ashamed that I doubted him. What I am, is damned proud and happy that the shrimp boat captain proved my sorry arse wrong!

All the douches that were on the Coach O Binder Train deserve to be kneecapped.

All the a-holes saying O lied his way into the gig conning Alleva by failing to deliver Freshwater as OC and taking SE out of the old folks home and putting new tread on him should be have some fingers broken.

I always liked O. I thought he got a raw deal at USC because of the snobbery and racism. He looked pretty good out there.

I was pulling for Herman but I didn't think O was the worst thing for the program since Curley like 90% of the f'n rant.

Some sort of justice needs to be rendered to the early O haters, talks like us, binder, OM 2.0, shirtless crew.

Oh the horror, after a 9 win season in a transition year.
Yes, it had it’s incredible low points and the Canada hire was an incredible frick up but O learned from it. It wasn’t the harbinger of doom many made it out to be.

From the get go there were those who expected O to crater the program. frick dem!!
That ain’t happening.

As for Canada, his hire was worst decision O has made. He wasn’t a spread guru and that’s on Ed for not vetting him properly. Thankfully that’s in the rearview mirror.

O has proved to be better than everyone of the alternatives considered including and besides Herman.

Not everyone will like every hire, specially when most of us know little about what he really brought to the program.
A lot of idiots never saw potential and chose to focus on the failures at Ole Miss. I am guessing most are young and do not understand that life's failures are the greatest lessons.

What was more dumb for me, was the criticism and willingness to cannibalize one of their own AFTER the hire was already done. Worry not, some of them will be lurking in the background waiting for anything negative to occur.

Your post is retarded. Anyone with a brain would have doubted the hire. You can thank Orgeron’s record at OM, combined with the epic incompetence of “Amateur Hour” Alleva for that... who didn’t exactly inspire confidence with his “Oh well, what the hell” philosophy towards the coaching search. If you knew this was going to turn out the way it did and you had intelligent reasons for believing so, then good for you. Respect. But if (and this is more likely) your reasons were “Baw” and “We comin” and “he talk like us”, then sorry, no brownie points for you. Go spend all your money on lottery tickets right now because you are the luckiest MFer on the planet, congrats.

Come take your lumps...I know y’all still post here. There was a time when it was me and Lester were pretty much the only posters on this board who said to give O more time, and we were roundly mocked.
