Certainly a reasonable approach, but what are you basing a possible turnaround on when all of our toughest games are ahead of us?

It has to be on faith. I can't see anything that's trending in the right direction.

It's more of feeling the Moo State game was an anomaly and there's no way this team is that bad.

Again, we'll see.

This team reminds me of LSU at this time last year. O-Line was not playing well and team play looked bad vs MSU (and agian vs Auburn).

And the sky-is-falling group on the Rant reacted exactly as they are now. I believe that this coaching staff will turn it around soon, hopefully vs UF.

So I'm going to judge this season by all the games, not just that one.

Sure, but you don't need to actually crash into the wall before you know it's going to happen. You can make a proper judgement based on current speed and direction you're heading.

What's funny is everyone is saying this doesn't look like an LSU team? I am blown away by how much, despite new offensive coaching, how much this looks likes a Miles' team.

Can't move the ball on offense, and somehow spread teams with subpar QBs look like fricking Tebow against us. See: Syracuse this year and two years ago. Mahommes (I know he's good, but looked like Superman against us) and Western Kentucky's QB a couple years ago.

It'll definitely take some time to shake off that identity, but I have a feeling we'll see some real meddle from this team as the season goes on. In 2014, we got the wheels blown off by MsSt (we just happened to make the score look better) and Auburn, but then played Alabama into OT.

it's like some of you don't watch the games

if we had lost a close one to State and looked a little sluggish last week thats one thing, but to look completely abject in every phase of the game for back to back weeks, to lose to MISSISSIPPI STATE by 30, and then the response to that is to sweat out a game to a Syracuse team coming off a loss to MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE should not EVVVVVVVVVER happen at LSU. You have FIFTY 4 or 5 star recruits on this team!

what they mean is it's shocking how much toughness we've lost from Miles to O

irrational to think that way considering the Moo State loss had so many of the hallmarks of a Coach O team based on what we saw at Ole Miss.

why are expectations lower for O than they were for Les?

Miles had already been the coach for 10+ years and hadn't done shite in the last several years he was here. You really need this explained to you?

keep moving those goalposts

Meh.

I think it's fair to wait till year two.

But, I also fully expect him to fail.

Does not excuse losing to State by 30 or looking as bad as we did last week

when you see someone is about to crash the plane, why wait to stop them?

those goalposts YOU speak of were never there with knowledgable football people. any rational objective fan could see the issues on the OL and the youth. and whether YOU believe it or not experience counts a hell of a lot in college football, esp in the sec west.

you set unrealistic goalposts and are now whining they won't be met. well pal, that's YOUR PROBLEM. I suggest you quit watching LSU football until someone tells you they are in the hunt for the title

Kirby Smart is only mildly incompetent. I'm convinced Orgeron is on the spectrum.

and how many are O linemen and D linemen? If you can't see the problem with talent and depth in these areas then you are just a CEO hater. If you are getting whipped in the trenches you can't win many games.
If CEO can't correct this problem in 2 more years with his recruits then I'll jump on your bandwagon and call for his head. And anyone who was expecting CEO to win 10 games with this team didn't know the facts. Anyone calling for his firing at this early stage was a CEO hater before the season started.

He was supposed to improve the team immediately. That's the narrative that was pushed. A seamless transition from old school to new school, if you will. I would expect this if it were Herman or someone else What's worrisome is there's times the team isn't even playing hard

How is Herman doing in Texas?

Pretty good actually. Texas looked more impressive in their game against USC than LSU has all season....with a backup freshman QB nonetheless.
