well the oline can be fixed....frosh at rg is a huge part of it.. the rest of the line isnt much diff. than last years. The dline with big ed back, gilmore, herron and lawrence is veryyyy above average. D white, thompson, key, and growing freshman at lb. Def not worried about the secondar or running backs. Decent qb. Improving wrs. THIS TEAM COULD EASILY COME TOGETHER AS A VERY GOOD TEAM. BUT WILL IT?

My God you are the most triggered pansy on this board. Your post count in the amount of time you've been a member is downright INSANE. You should probably think about taking a week off. I'm really concerned this site might actually kill you.

why are expectations lower for O than they were for Les?

Last year they were pretty high for Les. Loads of talent returning and a very high preseason rank. The talent isn't there this year to be a top 5 team. Ya'll have to realize that. If you're arguing against Alleva's narrative that he was hired so there wouldn't be a drop off, then that's on Alleva. Nobody could have this team competing for the playoff. The O line and D line are paper thin. What do you really expect from Orgeron? Do you think any coach in the Nation could run the table with this team? I highly doubt it.

There not, just Liberal democratic fans that change their story to fit what they want.

Les was shite
Coach O is shite. and he is expected to do what what Les was expected. But he cant.

Don't listen to those liberal fricktard LSU fans.

keep moving those goalposts

The man is not entitled to a second year? Talk about moving the goal posts.....we moved the frickers all the way into the parking lot the last few years of Miles tenure...hypocrite.

However, the mf is 3-1 currently with a roster that is likely an 8-4 team. You seriously need to be banned.

Team rated preseason #6 in talent rankings
3 consecutive top 10 classes

Every team outside of bama has weaknesses. Good coaches find ways to mask their weaknesses and excentuate their strengths. What else does a coach bring to the table? This is essentially their job description

Stop making excuses

Who outside of a few select players, appear to be grossly overrated. How many of these guys are actually on the field now?...or even still on the roster? IDK and am too lazy to look it up...but it would be interesting to see.

Entitled? Absolutely not. He's not entitled to even have the job.

But that has nothing to do with it. He's going to get 3 years and probably an extension.

Here's the thing, though. We're on the plane and the cockpit door is welded shut. It's either crashing or it isn't, but there isn't one damn thing that we can do about it. We might as well just enjoy the ride and hope we don't slam into the side of the mountain.

Realistically, I think he has until 2019 before the school would seriously consider buying him out. He's a Teflon Don this year for sure, with his $12 million buyout. Next year it drops to around $8 million, but it's still going to take something extremely dramatic for him not to survive. He's got enough excuses (new QB, extremely tough schedule) to talk himself into a third year, especially if it looks like the 2019 recruiting class is going to be great (which it really should be).

I think a bad team next year gets him legitimately on the hotseat with 2019 as his make or break year. What's going to be really interesting is if 2019 is ok, but doesn't meet expectations (like 9-3, with a bad loss or two). THEN we're getting into

Edit: just realized his buyout after 2019 is still $6 million. You O haters either better start rasing money, or doing everything you can to help make this guy successful, because it's looking like 4 years is virtually guaranteed (keep in mind, that Miles gets $1.5 million for the next 6 years as well).

I love when our fans make definitive statements about a team or a coach after a small sample size. Is everyone so near-sighted? I mean 2013 auburn came into death valley and got their teeth kicked in. No one was talking about them so no one expected anything else. Then they went on a run with a freaking WR for a QB and went to the champ game.

Has LSU looked like hot garbage the last couple of weeks? Sure. is it possible we are in for a long season? of course. Could we turn it around and still have a great year? You're damn right we can!

This is like off-season talk. Let the season play out. Let the kids play and let O coach and let's see if we can make ourselves a damn strong football team again.

Have a great day!

Can you please get with Dawgfan and decide who are the liberals and who are the republicans? He says O bashers are the libs. You're saying the CheeriO's are the libs. I'm getting confused.

My apologies,

As a dedicated LSU fan myself, I am a realist so I call it as I see it, even if its against my own team

Liberal LSU fans vs Real LSU fans.

Liberal fans talk out of both sides of their mouths so that the current situation of their team fits them. As in the fans that said don't give MILES any excuses, but because they are Coach O fans, Coach O can have excuses.

Realistic view, MILES had to go, and Coach O aint gonna make it.

Nick Saban's first year at LSU

2000?—?In 2000, the Tigers went 8–4 and won the Peach Bowl. The season was somewhat marred by several lopsided losses, including a 34–17 loss to the Auburn Tigers, a 13–10 loss to the UAB Blazers, and a 41–9 loss to the Florida Gators.
