I spoke to my cousin who knows a guy that knows a LSU player. He said that the team was pissed by the fans leaving and it inspired them to play better.

I say, let's leave early for the Ole Miss day as well.

If your last name starts A-F leave at end of 1st qtr, G-M 2nd qtr, N-S 3rd and everyone else at the end.

This wasn't a national championship team. LAST year's team was.

I have no problem with fans leaving after the sad performance the first 3 quarters. The players need to understand they only play 12, 13 or 14 games in one year. Is it asking too much that they can get up for a Troy and play them hard for at least 3 quarters of play. If they don't they see how the fans will react on a cold night in Tiger Stadium.

You are quite literally and figuratively a fair weather fan. Methinks you doth protest too much. And no, I didn't go to the game. I'm in Iraq

Before I say what I really want to say....Thank you for the service to this country.

Now. I think you are quite literally and figuratively someone who has no clue what you are talking about.

Bottom line is, "my dollar = my choice" If I choose to Boo, I will BOO!!!!, if the product is Sooooo bad that I can't take it, I will leave. Those that don't like it can keep on ranting, but have little other recourse.

My advice is to buy tickets. You can sit there quietly without Booing or leaving regardless of the score.

And what about those of us who can't get tickets, hm? I listened on the radio because that was the best I could do -- but I'd have MUCH rather been in the stadium.

The way I see it, getting to go to Tiger Stadium during any game, especially a night game, is a privilege and not a right. People ought to be honored that they get a chance to watch the game in person as opposed to listening to it on the radio.

Yeah, there are fans who didn't go to the game that are complaining about people leaving early. I don't like it when I'm stuck with the radio and people who can actually watch the game don't watch it the whole way. I don't care how cold it is, I'll watch the game and be damn glad I'm in Tiger Stadium, at night, during the Homecoming game, instead of relying on radio.

And...for Christ's sake, it's HOMECOMING. HOMECOMING. How in the world can you say you support your team if you leave at halftime during the HOMECOMING game, the one game you're supposed to WIN, because you're getting beaten up by a team that shouldn't be winning?

Maybe I'd have a different view if I was up in the cold watching Troy blow out LSU early. But right now, looking back, that cold seat looks MUCH better than the radio.

This is from the Florida game last year.

Look at the crowd! There's still 30 minutes left before kickoff, and the place is packed. Even for the Georgia and Alabama game this year, it didn't fill up until right about at kickoff.

I know the fair-weather fans were more excited last year for the games - and LSU was better, but the true colors of the LSU fanbase have been shown this season. From showing up late to games, to leaving very early... a shite load of LSU fans are garbage!

You could have written this last year as an Alabama fan.
quote:

I know it was bad, but a heart breaking loss usually follows with an off week. ALabama took the number three team in the country and if it was not for interceptions/fumbles that game never would have been at that point and Bama would have the win. Instead it was a heart breaker knowing you had the nations best beat.

LSU lost, doesn't matter how but you did - just like we lost last year.

The people who stayed, were drunk, bored, or just enjoying the cirlces they were in. They certainly did not stay to see "quality" football played by LSU.

or we were fans and stayed to root on our Tigers

I love how some of the fans are trying to say they are not fairweather fans and they come up with quotes like this,

"I paid to be entertained and I was not entertained"

"It was cold" This one is the true "fairweather" test.

" I had my kids with me"

If you are making excuses and trying to justify your behavior then you do fit as a fairweather fan.

Isn't is amazing that once the negatigers left and the true fans were the only ones left to cheer and support our Tigers that they started playing well?

Karma. That being said i'll say this "it ain't over till it's over".

Bottom line, if you're a true fan, unless you've got some other commitment- don't leave.

if you want to test my fanhood and tell me i'm not a true fan, i'd say go frick yourself.
i drove to fricking indianapolis by myself to go watch that shitty final four, i've seen almost every florida arse whoopin in the last 10 or so years, and i stayed til the end of those 2 UGA arse whoopins in athens and the sec championship, and almost every game in the last 10 years, basketball and football. i've never left early.

but i was aggravated, tired, and my wife would not quit complaining, and i don't feel bad for leaving and if someone tells me i'm a fair weather fan,
then you can go frick yourself.

for the amount of traveling, cheering, supporting, and money i give to LSU, i think i deserve a little better than a 31-3 arse beating and a kid that has thrown 8 pick 6's.
i have no remorse for leaving and if anyone is proud of the comeback then i would say you are a dumb fan.
there is nothing proud about having to comeback from 28 down to beat Troy.
if you told me, LSU is down 28 and has 25 minutes to come back and beat Troy, i would hope we could do that at least 7 out of 10 times, and i would be pissed every time we lost out of those 10 tries.

It wasn't that damn cold, ya'll are making it sound like it was below freezing. It was upper 40s, lower 50s, and I can't wrap my brain around the concept of "better things to do". It's Saturday during football season, that's all anyone should be doing. If you think you have better things to do, you're not a fair weather fan, you're just not a fan.

Somebody called into Charles and Gordy's show Sat night saying Bama fans vacated their stadium in droves during a game he attended a few yrs back.

So it doesn;t just happen at LSU.
