Series History
2007 - LSU 41 Bama 34... Matt Flynn throws 3 INTs and LSU averages only 2.6 ypc before LSU scores 24 of the last 31 points and Chad Jones forces a fumble to set up the winning TD.
2008 - LSU 21 Alabama 27... tied 21-21 at the end of regulation, Ricky Jean Francois blocks the winning FG attempt to send the game into OT, where Jarrett Lee throws his 4th INT to end the game.
2009 - LSU 15 Alabama 24... trailing 9-10, Jordan Jefferson exits the game with an ankle injury and Charles Scott exits the game with a fractured collarbone. After pulling ahead 15-13, Patrick Peterson exits the game prior to Julio Jones scoring on a 73 yard catch and run to give Alabama a 21-15 lead. On the next drive, Peterson, fresh off IV fluids, intercepts a pass from Greg McElroy on the LSU 40 yard line... or didn't. Alabama would kick another FG and emerge with the win.
2010 - LSU 24 Alabama 21... trailing 13-14, Stevan Ridley puts the team on his back and rushes 7 times for 47 yards and a TD, and a fumble forced by Drake Nevis is recovered by Kelvin Shepard to give LSU a 24-14 advantage. With 2:49 seconds remaining in the game, Jarrett Lee hits Reuben Randle for 47 yards, allowing LSU to drain the clock and preserve the win.
2011 - LSU 9 Alabama 6... in a game featuring over 40 NFL Draft picks, Jordan Jefferson replaces and ineffective Jarrett Lee and with the efforts of Michael Ford, is able to do just enough with his legs to beat Alabama in a game determined by excellent punting by Brad Wing, terrible placekicking by Cade Foster, and an amazing interception by Eric Reid.
2011 - LSU 0 Alabama 21.... in what many signal as the decline of LSU football, following a missed 37 yard FG by an Oklahoma State kicker, Alabama imposes its will on LSU.
2012 - LSU 17 Alabama 21... Zach Mettenberger's evolution into one of the finest QBs to play in Death Valley is spoiled, trailing 14-17 with only 1:34 remaining and no timeouts remaining, Alabama drives 72 yards in 43 seconds as AJ McCarron connects with Kevin Norwood three times for 44 yards before the game-winning screen pass to T.J. Yeldon.
2013 - LSU 17 Alabama 38... with a 17-14 halftime lead, Alabama would score TDs on each of its second-half possessions to win in dominating fashion.
2014 - LSU 13 Alabama 20... with the game tied 10-10, Lamar Louis forces a fumble by T.J. Yeldon, recovered by Kendell Beckwith at the 6 yard line. Following a questionable unsportsmanlike conduct call, LSU is pushed out of the redzone and settles for a FG. The pursuing kickoff by Trent Domingue sails out of bounds. With no timeouts remaining, Blake Sims, held to 149 yards passing on the night, drives 55 yards in 50 seconds before Alabama kicks the tying FG. Alabama would win in OT.

i'm gonna say saban will take it this year as well.

We've been so close that it's painful. Saban is the better coach, but they lost a LOT--Cooper, Collins, Sims, and Yeldon. Without Collins hitting Fournette, I think we can win if healthy

The game is in Tuscaloosa and we don't know if we have a quarterback. I'm going with Alabama right now.

We're due.
Between the 18 Underclassmen Draft Picks draining our talent pool and the Mustang Package giving away games in the final minutes, we certainly are.

It's amazing how often this gets lost in the Miles/Saban pissing contest.
Miles had the better team in 2007 and 2010.
Saban had the better team in 2008 and 2009.
They were pretty much on a level field in 2011.
Saban has probably had the better team since then, and we've had the lead with a minute remaining twice in three years.
