This New Generation of LSU fans...

This post 2003 generation, this generation that reacts to adversity by setting it's hair afire, takes some getting used to.
Some perspective, neophytes.
Sure, it would satisfy our egos to live in an alternate Universe where all our football dreams are fulfilled and every day is Christmas.
But if you are in this for the Long Haul, you need to react to failure, adversity, bad breaks, injuries, bad officiating, bone-headed coaching etc. with some semblance of maturity-or you risk making it UNFREAKING UNBEARABLE for the rest of us.
The Tigers are 5-1.
They are better than the teams they have beaten.
They are worse than the team that beat them.
Looking forward they should be favored in every game except one (possibly two).
I expect this team to rise to the occasion and meet and possibly exceed our expectations.
This break comes at a perfect time.
Lets get behind our guys (that INCLUDES our coaching staff) and try to create a positive environment that allows our team to succeed.
It's a little too early for the nuclear option guys, let's stand behind our team, not undercut team morale.
One play...one possession...one quarter...one game at a time.
BEAT AUBURN !

A lot of the haters aren't kids. That's what surprises me.

Only thing I didnt like about the fans yesterday was people leaving when we failed to convert on 4th down with 5 minutes to go. Then Jai gets the INT and students are still leaving. I just think that if we can't believe in our team, how are they supposed to believe in themselves. And I agree!

Very well put, i agree totally!

For me it is just the frustration of a missed opportunity.
FL obviously was playing knowing that we had NO chance at moving the ball. IMO that is just a little embrassing. Hence some irrational thoughts by me, and I am sure that is part of the cause for alot of the posters. Or maybe it is just me. But I will pull for them against Auburn...no matter who is on the field for the Tigers.

Who said we are giving up on the team?
This team has serious offensive problems. If you want to lower your expectations and make excuses go ahead, its a free country. The fan base is now use to success and wants it to continue.

You expect this team to rise to the occasion?? based on what?
Posted on 10/11/09 at 1:36 pm to mt1
Thats not what I meant. I was merely stating It made me a little uneasy seeing some of LSU's own students leave early even though their team still was giving all they could.

nobody is giving up, they just know how well we recruit now and when you have that many 4 and 5 stars on offense and score 3 pts at home, something is wrong

Set up the fake argument and knock it down.
So much melodrama.

Good post, but how can you expect someone to exceed your expectations?

you can still criticize the obvious problems without not being a fan. There are 108 offenses better than LSU. How many are more talented? 6 or 10?

no offense dude but they play for themselves and each other ALOT more than they play for the fans...just saying

I concede, you are right. We are not wasting talent and the team has no problems. We shouldn't discuss any of our team's problems on a fan site devoted to that team.

OF COURSE. You would have to have a REALLY low football IQ to not see the OBVIOUS problems.
That said, make your criticism CONSTRUCTIVE. Don't whine like a bitch.
Don't be a TANTRUM FAN.
There are enough Jackasses in the world.

This is the dumbest shite yet today. MOST of these guys are playing for dollars or a scholarship that pays for their education. Otherwise, they should quit and focus on studying or get a fricking job.

A straw man argument is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position. To ‘set up a straw man’ or ‘set up a straw-man argument’ is to create a position that is easy to refute, then attribute that position to the opponent.
Dear God, make it stop.
