Hey everyone....this is not my usual post, but we can use all the help an prayers we can get! My 2 1/2 old daughter, Katie, will be getting a kidney transplant and the process starts at MUSC in Charleston next week. She is already a huge Tiger fan! She Loves chanting LSU LSU LSU! anytime I am watching my Tigers on TV. That said, I am coming here for prayers and just to over all bring awareness to kidney disease, which is a much bigger problem than most realize. Also attached is a link to her Gofund me that just got started yesterday and its amazing the support so far! We definitely plan to donate back a part of this to the community that has helped us so much.
I know this has been a rough week for us Tigers, but lil Katie does sure put things in perspective. Any love is appreciated! Blessing to all of you and Geaux Tigers!

Prayers to you and your family, brotha. Perspective is not something you often find here. Wishing your little girl all the best with the transplant.

She will be in my thoughts and prayers. Stories like this really hit home after you have kids of your own.

I'd be blessed to pray for Katie. I have 4 children, & would crawl miles through glass to get them better if such was required.
Our little boy who is now 2, was septic at birth. Throughout the L & D process, everything went well. I was able to deliver him myself, as I've done with all of my children. What a blessing!
His first apgar was great, & he looked fine. I was holding him, about 30-45 minutes after his birth, & noticed he was retracting with his breathing, & he was tachypnic (fast breathing). I grabbed a nurse and we quickly hooked him up to a pulse ox, etc, & then we decided to order a blood culture. Sure enough, he was septic with Group B Strep. We had to transport him to our local children's hospital.
It was then that I realized that even as a physician; there was nothing I could do. I had everybody that I could, join us in praying for him. It was slow going at first, but he got well, & came home with us 10 days later. He's incredibly well & healthy to this day.
I'm deeply indebted to all who participated in praying for him. Even with IV antibiotics, many of these babies still don't necessarily make it. I'm thankful for God's blessing in the miracle He bestowed on us. So please know that I will pray in fervor for God's almighty hand to touch your Katie for healing.
Please keep us posted!

God bless you, and God bless little Katie. Football seems pity compared to the obstacles that we deal with in life.
