'I would review everything we did. I would change it, without question. I didn't know that at the time. Wish I had."

"I HAVE NOTHING against Jarrett Lee. NOTHING personal. I admire his career here. I hope he is successfull going forward"

So which is it?? I can guarantee you that if Miles had "held players accountable" yesterday he would've been ripped to shreds on this board for throwing players under the bus....

Perhaps Miles should have held players accountable at some point over the last 3 years. When Jefferson says, "I think I played a good game," after not even leading LSU to a scoring drive against McNeese State, then Les Miles needs to step in, "No Jordan, you did not." Maybe Les Miles should have spent less time pumping sunshine up Jefferson's butt during the Spring and more time allowing a true qb competition. It seems that the only time Jefferson ever played well was when his job was on the line (2008 bowl game, 2010 games after Florida, 2011 pre-bama).

quote:

The only thing Saban ever lied about was his own job status/inquiries.

don't try to feed me this bull shite....come on.

Saban was always honest about player performance, injuries, and game decisions. I remember against Ole Miss in 2001, Saban tried to milk the clock right before half while trailing. LSU fans booed, and Ole Miss blocked a punt. After the game he told the media "When backed up in your own territory, and your offense struggling, sometimes it's best to try and get to half and regroup instead of forcing things." He didn't duck the criticism, he stood strong in his beliefs. Les Miles says, "I'm not aware of any outside criticism, unless the players bring it up."

Nick Saban taught me something. Les Miles ducks the questions.

I AGREE WITH THIS. IT DOESN'T TAKE A GENIUS TO START METT

So.you believe Mett should have been given reigns all season? Starting over two senior QB's? Both with playing experience under their belt?

No, but thats my point. Lee had all those advantages over Mett, and still disappeared for 5 games.

What makes anyone think that Miles will turn the reigns over to a kid who Blackwell was quoted as saying was goofy and immature? Miles still hasnt let 2008 go, as we saw with his treatment of Lee and desire for a QB that makes plays with his feet, and not his arm

It makes LSU fans skeptical

Does anyone think Mett would start over Jefferson this year if JJ was eligible?

Do you want a coach to consistently lie? Miles does which is the reason most everyone doubts anything he says.

Exactly, had the legal issues dragged on, and JJ took a redshirt, and we lost badly to Bama with Lee at QB ...

What would the board be discussing right now about next year? How great it will be to have JJ coming back?

I find it funny that no one has answered choctaws question as to what they want changed moving forward.

What on the defense?

What in ST?

You seem to always enjoy judging other posts. Maybe you should just move on from the posts that are not "good" or "interesting" to you. Prevents clutter of non-related arguments in the threads.

Youre missing the point. People are not asking for change, they are wanting to know why we changed? Why did we move away from the strike first, build a lead passing offense under Lee, to end up with what embarassed us before the nation under JJ?

We were not the ones asking for change. Miles did that on his own. And it appears that it cost us. And since Lee was never allowed in that game, all we can do is speculate.

"I can tell you that I do think about the ability to change quarterbacks. That was a question that I had, brought to my staff. There was a point and time where we just scrambled to the 32-yard line against Alabama. Jordan Jefferson put us in that position, and the way the pass rush was going in that game we just felt like that we needed a mobile quarterback to make a play like that. Understand that if you finish one drive, you just finish one drive, you score seven. It's a completely different game really right from the start to the finish minus the back end. I can tell you that Jarrett Lee did come to mind. We do have confidence in Jarrett, we just felt like we needed that guy who might be able to get loose with his feet. "That being said, I have a difficult time people moaning my time effort and my coaches effort and the want to win. I felt that they did everything that they could, that they were asked to do. I don't think we played perfectly. I don't think there's anybody would say that this was something that was representative of our best play, but I can tell you that our guys gave everything that they had.

miles quote from presser. looks like he did not address going two minute o with lee or the punt late or why in the hell were we running the ball late instead of passing in a 2 minute O with EITHER QB? he just talked about a possible QB change with Lee.IOW, more word salad from miles. we have heard this before on why he did not play lee or another QB. nothing new. it still does not address my other questions. running and punting late? what the hell? we are gonna drive on bama late for 15 or 21 running the ball? especially after a punt?

we built leads by defense and running the ball. Lee averaged about 19 passes a game.
