I have a good friend that was a direct intern under Mark Emmert a few years ago. he's still a HUGE LSU fan. I'm really surprised for his own fanhood he hasn't lobbied for more scholarships for baseball. it'd do wonders for the sport


eta: I understand hot Title IX works. my problem is that we can't just justify it with science. Softball doesn't need 10 pitchers with the underhand motion

Because of title 9 every male scholarship gets a female scholarship.

So every female bench player at every school is on full ride. Male athletes are often paying their own way or getting a partial scholarship.

I know nothing about lacrosse but from googling for a second it seems like they draw pretty well? Maybe I'm wrong.

Seems like every college should get a lump sum of schollies to do with as they please with any sport.

That would probably be worse honestly, it would just lead to Alabama using 90% of their scholarships on football and the rest of the country would follow suit with the hope of keeping pace.
