A&M is 1-3 in Conference, with a loss to the second worst team in the league in Arkansas. No, that will not be a quality win when it counts.

None of my threads had anything to do with LSU. They all had to do with Beard.

It’s a good win for LSU. One that should be celebrated. One I was at the game pulling for them to get. But to act like ONE result somehow mitigates a career of good success is absurd.
In his second season at Iowa St former Murray St HC Steve Prohm beat Beard in his first season at Texas Tech. A few years later Beard played for a National Championship. Prohm got fired after a season where he won 2 games…total. Did that one win mean Prohm was a better coach? Sylvester Croom beat Nick Saban in his first year at Alabama. Good thing Alabama didn’t fire that bum Saban who was clearly the inferior coach.
Point is tonight should be celebrated for LSU. I am. But that doesn’t mean Beard isn’t a great HC. His resume speaks for itself

Why would we not prefer a coach who got Texas tech to a final 4 and had Texas #1 before his allegations?
Just because Houston Nutt gave nick Saban fits and won at times that doesn’t mean I prefer Houston Nutt
Also Beard has ole miss playing way better basketball than what McMahon was doing in year one. He brought the starting 5 of a second round team and picked up solid transfers, plus retained guys, and we were awful.

I have been in McMahon’s corner as I would be for any coach LSU hired. But when they hired O I predicted disaster. I might have said the same as the poster to whom you responded: See me at the end of the year. But I was rooting for LSU all the time. I wanted to see O do well, but I thought he would do terribly.
