Wonder what ole John Chavis is thinking now leaving LSU for A&M because he felt job security for Miles and staff weren't long at LSU. Welcome to LSU 2.0 John, after the past 2 weeks Sumlin ain't long for A&M unless a miracle happens the rest of the way this season and he goes 10-2 or 9-3 "which he won't." So bye bye Sumilin and bye bye Chavis.

While he was correct about Miles and some of Miles coaching staff not being long for LSU, I am assuming because of the success he had on defense at LSU that Coach Oeaux would have kept Chavis on staff, where again I assume that when Sumlin gets canned this year, which is looking very likely at this point, that Chavis is gone too as he has improved their defense but the new coach probably brings in his DC as Chavis has done well but not exceptional there.

$1.5 / year for 3 years, guaranteed without any "Les Miles" clause. Yeah he made a pretty good choice.

He made a good choice when it comes to money. He will probably retire.

Have you ever seen The Sting? Save yourself the time. It's one of the greatest movies ever made, but you would not understand it.

He is now hangin with the Coop. That's an excellent choice that someone is going to keep even if Summy is fired.

If Chavis didn't leave, there is a good chance Saban hires Aranda after Kirby Smart left for Georgia.

Pacito, With all due respect, there is not a chance in the world Saban would hire Aranda, nor would Aranda consider working for Saban.

Saban has a defensive philosophy and scheme that is very different from Aranda's.

Hey dumb arse. If chavis stays at LSU then Miles wouldn't need to hire Aranda now would he?

Now I will say this, EdO could maybe have brought Aranda to BR. They are pretty tight and it was babe that brought up Aranda's name up to Les in the first place.

Chavis was a very good coach for LSU. Nobody hated him until he left.

People here seem to have a double standard. Hate Les for being stupid and hate Chavis for being likewise pissed at Miles and leaving.

Chavis left because of the same reason people wanted Miles gone... he was hard headed and wouldn't change.

Say what you want but Chavis is a solid Defensive Coordinator.
