just clicked the link, didn't realize someone was really serious about this. This is really a dumb idea and a bit embarrassing. He is going to be a very rich man very shortly and then a mega rich man in his second contract. Joe seems to be a good guy and I am sure he will help out with situations he feels he can and should help out with.
just because it really was a good idea with Cole Tracys old school doesn't make it a good idea in this case.
Not to mention, like someone already said in this thread, what even guarantees the money isn't just going into the pocket of who ever put that up?

I think y'all are missing the point of this...Joe Burrow has done so much for us...let's give back to the people who have known him since he was a kid. Of course he will be rich soon , but this gift would be from the LSU family to his folks and hometown team/school. Lord what's wrong with that?

good luck with that but there are plenty of schools here in Louisiana that really are in need of some help and even if this is legit, it just seems like Joe would be the one who would want to help his old high school if he feels it needs help. To me it just seems weird.

do a search on google maps of their high school and check out that football stadium, and baseball field. Check out their Wikipedia page and school web site. Maybe Joe Burrow would want, at some point in time, to have the Joe Burrow Physical Training and Workout Facility built on the Athens HIgh School campus, but Athens Highs School doesn't need $20K from us. They would probably look at it like WTF, why are ya'll sending this to us, don't ya'll (Louisiana schools) need it a lot more than we do?

I'm not real generous when it comes to giving money to a random HS because one of their players decided to come here. Its not like they forced him...he saw an opportunity at LSU to better HIMSELF. And he did.

Our schools are fricking garbage but sure, let's raise thousands of dollars for football facilities on the other side of the country.

I lowered it to a more realistic goal...if we can gift 5k to the school I think that's a very generous gesture. Some of y'all never think people can do a nice thing.
