Old Lady sitting next to an empty seat at Tiger Stadium. Man asks her if anyone is sitting there. She responds, "It's my late husband's seat." Man responds, "Oh, well, why didn't you give his ticket to a friend?" Lady replies, "I tried, but they're all at the funeral."

I got married on a Saturday afternoon in January. Saints make the playoffs for the first time in a decade, win their first-ever playoff game, and the next game is the afternoon of the wedding. I still tell all my relatives that I spared them having to watch us get killed by the Vikings.

Wife gave me a pocket-sized TV to watch the game between the ceremony and reception. Still married!

Because I got married during an LSU game I'm no longer a fan? There are more important things in life than an LSU game.

There are some horribly shitty friends/family members up in this thread.

FOUND ONE!!!

ETA: We had this discussion a few months ago and I'm not getting into again with Salmon. He thinks those that bitch about people getting married during LSU games are selfish assholes and I argue that those that get married during LSU games are in fact the selfish a-hole. Agree to disagree.

I have a daughter who I agreed to watch the whole weekend for her mom, then I find out daughter's best friend (6 yrs Old) is having her birthday party Sat @ 2 - 4!

Here's the kicker, birthday girl's dad is my best friend too! I cursed him seven ways from Sunday last nite. HE claims they set the party (at a highly sought after specialty place) before they moved the kickoff time.

So he and I are calling ahead to the place to see if we can bring a flatscreen and connect into their cable. If not, I'm clear for a drop off and return.

This. hopefully the one who picked the wedding date will realize the booos are directed at them. If not, booo louder.

Or start a "Start Lee" chant.

My wifes best friend got married on the night of the LSU-Alabama game in 08......I told her point blank there was no way I was missing it, if the brides cousin-in-law (good friend of mine) who was going to the game, I would be there as well. Fortunately his wife agreed, though we scrambled out of the stadium and made it back to New Orleans for the reception. Believe me, copious amounts of alcohol was drank that night following that debacle.

No one other then your two wives know you weren't there. Forget the first half...just show up for the reception.

During football season on anything but a Bye weekend is ridiculous!
even that is a no no. had a friend schedule her wedding for the bye week a few years back. then the MSU game got moved to the first Thursday of the season, a couplke other games got shifted, and all of the sudden that bye week turned into the LSU vs Bama game kicking off at the same time as the wedding
