BUT, with this defense and special teams, we are good enough to win the next 3 games against winning teams.

can O do something les couldn't do? get the team ready to play after the Alabama loss?

. I just want the Tigers to win these games! Geaux Tigers!

bullshite. No you cant change the scheme but you can definitely change the game plan.

If your oline is getting destroyed the try to move the pocket. Dont Just drop straight back every pass play.

Where was the plays with Guice and LF in the same backfield? They are our 2 most explosive players.

Where were the short routes to the TE to keep 1 of their front 7 occupied?

No the scheme couldnt be changed but they used the same exact game plan as last year.

should have stayed in the empty set formation or 4 wide or have 2 back set with guice and lf7

I thought Pocic looked good at tackle in an earlier game. I thought they might make the change during the bama game. Especially since he spent most of the game in the backfield.

No the line could not block for shite. Hell the trying to help with backs and tight ends and still couldn't pass protect.

calm down, my friend. i'll agree that we looked more conservative than the previous 3 games, but there are analysts out there like booger McFarland who state that the game plan wasn't that bad.

our o-line looked terrible. we had 4 guards and one tackle on the line, and we had the lone tackle playing center. that's the kind of thing i'm talking about - if you don't have to, would it be worse to start shifting them around? I don't know.

anyway, main point is that there is no excuse not to win the next 3.

what say you to that?

Exactly. Nobody is expecting a different offense. The major fail is that nothing different was tried once the initial game plan went to crap. That is what turned so many off from Coach O. Eleven years of that BS was enough.

I kind of disagree here. They tried multiple pass protections, different formations, blocking schemes etc. The O was successful- and I use that term loosely- when Ensminger was content with 3rd & 3 or less. In the 2nd half they tried to hit the deep ball with complete disregard to the disadvantages in pass protection and Etling's habit of holding on too long. You could count 2 & 3 Mississippi's and Etling looks like a deer in the headlights. Inserting Harris doesn't help because he can't hit the short or intermediate routes. The only advantage is his running which isn't an advantage once they adjust. Which is an easy adjustment because he can't throw it 0-10 yds with any kind of accuracy.

I think that they lined up in the I-form and other single backformations with TE's because Bama was getting so much pressure with their front seven.

Essentially, Bama was able to effectively rush 4 or sometimes 5 guys against our I-Form so it should go without saying that they would have eaten up our spread with just a 5 man OL with 4 guys.

That also put them in a big advantage when we were in the I-Form and only had two receivers running routes. They just had more guys able to cover the receivers than most teams can afford to use against us. This is one reason why I was hoping to see the TE's get loose in the passing game but I guess that they were needed in the trenches for blocking.

It was zero-zero in the fourth quarter. It's easy to see in hindsight that we should have done more to score, but in the heat of battle the mindset of the coaches is just to stick with what they do best and hope the players can finally make a play to get in scoring position.

Honestly there was ZERO imagination in the offensive scheme. It was vanilla, it was conservative, it was LES.

No, but the Miles playbook has many plays and O and Esminger has refused to use them.

The offense certainly looked very predictable and Miles esque vs Bama. We have seen Miles use Fournette in a wildcat, why didn't O at least try it twice? We have seen Miles use LF and Guice in the backfield together. Why didn't O during the Bama game?
