TBH no SEC team deserves to play in the Sugar Bowl this year.

FSU could possibly go to the Orange Bowl due to being now ranked 1 spot ahead of Louisville. Both went 9-3 and had similar schedules. FSU lost to Louisville 63-20. Louisville fans must be pissed.

Say Florida gets bitch slapped by Alabama 42-9 (no TD, just field goals)
Would that have any impact on the current situation?

Totally agree. We lost to Auburn. Get over it. We don't deserve it.

I'll jump on the dead horse...... LSU does NOT deserve to play in it ahead of Auburn. frick the committee arguments on who played Bama better, who's winning/losing better, etc. If LSU gains a foot, they're in......if LSU doesn't lack focus against UF, they're in........if LSU understands how to get a play in with even half-assed clock mgmt, they're in (but the Les effect may have kept them out of even a bowl). The Tigers had they're chance and failed. End. Of. fricking. Story.

What you say is correct but you are wrong.

"deserves got nothing to do with it"

Going to the Sugar Bowl doesn't have the same meaning or prestige that it used to....this isn't a reward for being "SEC Champion" it's just an extra game to make money.

With the disappointing seasons that LSU, Florida and Auburn have had I not sure any of the fan bases will travel well.

Because of that, it's probably a good year to take LSU. Ditto Florida playing in Florida.

Auburn? Not sure the driving distance different, but take the family to Disney instead of New Orleans.

Should have beat Auburn and Florida. That's on LSU. That's not on the committee.

You earn it on the field. No entitlements.

Was this reply to me or just the last message?

Cause my whole point is the Sugar Bowl is not the "reward" that it used to be.

LSU going to the Sugar would not be a reward, just a business decision.

Yep! It's all a fricking joke to be honest. The system might be worse than the BCS. It has zero consistency!

Florida gets skull fricked by FSU and only drops 1 spot? Auburn gets skull fricked by Alabama and only drops 1 spot? Complete horse shite and don't come here with we got shut out at home. We played Alabama harder and better than any team in the country and we dropped 11 spots?

That's the consistency I'm talking about. Screw the Sugar Bowl, not even worried about that. I'm worried about the teams that will get screwed this year and the years to come because of the system that is in place!

No question LSU blew it by losing to Florida. Of course you could argue Auburn equally blew it by losing to Georgia and getting blasted by Bama. Frankly I don't care that much, because if you're not in the Top 4, what does it really matter. But of greater concern is the fact that there is a serious problem with how the SEC representative to the Sugar Bowl is chosen.

The Committee has consistently demonstrated its completely unconcerned with the rankings outside of the top 10. This years Chairman of the Committee specifically said last night the "sole" (his word) job of the Committee is to rank the top 4 teams. Yet the SEC has tied who goes to the Sugar Bowl into the hands of a Committee that clearly could care less about accurately ranking teams past the top 8 to 10. That's a problem when a bid to the Sugar Bowl is at stake. Anyone who thinks LSU should have fallen 11 spots (and don't forget they also fell at least 10 spots after losing to Florida) after the game against Alabama is being an idiot, I don't care what other teams that week did. Just this week Tennessee loses to Vandy and only falls 5 spots. If we're going to tie in the conference's spot in the Sugar Bowl to the committee, they need to be more consistent.

Very glad the Committee could care less. I was concerned for a while that perhaps they couldn't care less.

There's still a chance!!!!

This is 100% correct. The committee has turned out to be a fricking joke and this system is worse than the BCS in my opinion.

The FCS playoffs are 100 times better than the popularity contest that this 4 team playoff system has turned into.

They should take 24 teams into a playoff, give the top 8 ranked teams a first round bye, and let the teams decide who will be the champion.

I don't have a problem with Auburn being ahead of us. I have a problem with them being 14 while we are 21. Other than our head to head loss (which to me trumps the rest) our resume is better. No bad losses, all losses are to top 15 teams. Never blown out, and except for the Bama game, one play from wins. We should be ahead of every team Auburn is ahead of (except florida).

Funny thing is, using the BCS formula, we would be 13th.

Wait...there are still people that think we deserve to go to the Sugar Bowl? I've been away from the rant for a couple weeks.
