He was a Junior at the time and 2 years of coaching were flushed down the toilet! So all that he learned as a Backup for 2 seasons did nothing for the season when he was supposed to be the man and a young QB named JLee had to take the reigns. The whole negatiger nation couldn't deal with his pic 6s, so a whole new young QB was thrown in. And whata ya know he holds the ball too long(Remembers JLee). We lost 2 years of experience cause he was removed from the team. Colleges have natural progression from year to year. Other positions are not as critical cause of amount of players like OT OG LB CB S cause you need more than one on any particular play. QB though u have only normally 1 QB on the field. RP is to blame for losing 2 years of experience on the field and causing the recession in our QB play it is so damn obvious to see. These young QBs were not groomed to learn the offense they were forced to learn it because 1 guys was booted from the team messing up the cycle of QBs. You may be tired of hearing it just as i am tired of people bashing to young LSU QBs. These 2 QBs were to be coached up anyways regardless of RP presence or not so that is who should be bashed not these 2 QBs!!

Remember the La Tech game? That should answer that question.
Remember all of last season? The number 112 come to mind? Now I'm not saying I believe JLee should be our game 1 starter, but let's not act like it's completely out of the question based on 1 game from last season. Because as I remember it, minus the Auburn game, we looked awful all year.

You cannot base QB evaluations simply on a Spring game
That should be one of the ten commandments in college football fanhood

You can't seriously say JJ's horrible perfomance in the Spring game was his only bad performance...Unless I missed something, he has actually only played decent in two games, Georgia Tech and Auburn this past year. I'm tired of all the excuses for him also...
Thank you. Well said.

If LSU were to play a game tomorrow, and Les started JJ over Jarrett Lee, I'd lose all confidence in Les' decision making ability.
Les has decicion making ability!!! Did you watch the Ole Miss game last year?

We all know....it's called the 2008 LSU football season. Maybe you should watch a rerun of that instead
You mean the football season where we had a terrible defense, or do you mean the football season where we had a terrible offense?
Since this discussion is in reference to offense, i'd say you should probably mention the 2009 season, when JJ started and we had one of the worst offenses in the country. Our defense is decent now, its time to play a qb that can score points (even if some of them are for the other team)
Atleast you can see the disapointment in Lee's eyes when he messes up. He's a competitor. JJ just sits there and laughs it up on the sidelines like nothing's wrong after he messes up.

JJ is still a work in progress...he's not there yet. Who knows if he ever arrives before he leaves LSU...he doesn't even know...Look, I'm going to say it again for the umptheenth time...Joe Montana didn't prove himself or arrive to his potential until several years into his pro career...and I don't mean one or two...he was iffy as a pro for several years...JJ has big potential and it's up to him more than anyone else if he ever develops it fully...all this jibber jabber means NOTHING!

If J. Lee had the mental toughness, I'd take him over JJ any day. Problem is he isn't a gamer (yet).
You could tell JJ just got down on himself in the spring game. In his defense, things weren't going his way at all. RS dropped a shite ton of great passes, and his pass protection sucked. When you start 1-12 or whatever, its tough to get back up and tough it out, but he's got to learn.

I like both JJ AND JL.
The only thing I don't like is that JL looks visibly SCARED of taking a hit. You can see it in his eyes. When a rush is coming, he gets antsy and forces the throw (a lot like Favre).
JJ on the other hand, see's pressure, and either a)takes a sack or b) takes off running. I'd much rather have a QB do that rather than force it. Hell, even a run out of the pocket and throw it away.

Personally I don't think either one has a chance of making it to the next level...they both are flawed IMHO...but this year is what it is...we need JJ to play just well enough to not cause the offense to constantly sputter...If he surprises on the upside, then we'll all celebrate a great season and perhaps more...but I have serious douts about his perception of the game and how he needs to execute it...

Plus the unforced pick six JL threw to Loston.
