So the spring game was on again this past Saturday. I recorded it but didn't watch it until last night.

I know this has been beat to death, but this post is for those who want to discuss our qb situation for the upcoming season.

I don't see any way that JJ is still the starting QB come September. He just looked lost, didn't throw good balls, and completely under-whelmed. Unless he has a miraculous turn around prior to September 4th, I think he will be second string.

If LSU were to play a game tomorrow, and Les started JJ over Jarrett Lee, I'd lose all confidence in Les' decision making ability. Based on what I saw, along with most everyone else, J. Lee is much more capable. Now can he do the same thing in game situations...who knows?

Remember the La Tech game? That should answer that question.

As I've said multiple times and others... You cannot base QB evaluations simply on a Spring game, to do so is uninformed and lazy. How many weeks after the Bowl game was the Spring game? Also, how have our previous QBs done in those games that were much later in the Spring? Go do a little research and use your head before posting...

Jefferson looked terrible. He's getting worse.

Lee looked much better, but like I said before about Lee....he didn't start playing well until after the pick 6. This leads me to believe that his pick 6 problem is mental and he's just waiting for the pick 6 to happen, after it happens he settles in and starts doing well. The coaches have to get Lee over that mentality.

gcrowton and Miles need to put rsheppard in as QB no. 2 and he can take direct snaps at shot gun, he would be a natural for run and pass similar to Tebow.

The spring game is the only thing we have to go on as far as this season goes. It doesn't concern you just a little that Jefferson was horrible in the spring game?

We all know....it's called the 2008 LSU football season. Maybe you should watch a rerun of that instead.

P.S. it was an f'n spring game.

I disagree. He didn't look good enough to be labeled as terrible. If terrible was placed on a ladder, JJ was 9-10 rungs below terrible. Its going to be a long season.

The only way JJ will not be the QB is if he gets injured or plays worse than JLee did in 2008

It is all you get to base your decision on but, the Coaches have all the practices and drills to observe and also all the game film between the two. You can not make your decision on one practice game that has no bearing on whether one is better than the other, everyone has an off day, but, JL had them every game.

For 2 effing years people have been making excuses for JJ. He's just a freshman...he's just a sophomore...blah blah blah.

The same can be said for Jarrett Lee. In fact, he was thrown to the wolves. I think that some of the reason that JJ is so conservative is because he saw what happened to J Lee, and didn't want any part of it.

I don't give a rats arse who the QB is. I just want the best player to start at that position. Now I don't know who that is, but for JJ to play QB for LSU, he needs to have learned a boat-load at the Manning camp.

You can't seriously say JJ's horrible perfomance in the Spring game was his only bad performance...Unless I missed something, he has actually only played decent in two games, Georgia Tech and Auburn this past year. I'm tired of all the excuses for him also...

I would like to see RS in a game situation running the team because I believe his team leadership skills are head and shoulders above the other two. The only unknown about RS is his ability to throw a pass and I am of the belief that the passes do not have to throw long passes much in the way that Joe Montana did. Yes he will have to be able to throw intermediate passes and maybe sprinkle a long one in every once in awhile. But to me his leadership is what would mean a lot to the running game and when the rest of the team see their leader doing the things they have to do then it will cause them to play just as hard as he does.

Every time JJ stands up and looks lost and looks like a dear in headlights the rest of the is going to react in a similar mannor. Every time JL throws a pick6 the team gets down and aggrevated so to me try someone else it certainly could not be any worse than what we have seen in the games. I know the He has said he wants to have a go at reciever and the Coaches say he does not throw very well but I believe if given the chance during a game with his confidence his resolve to do what it takes to succeed I believe he could no worse than what we have seen on the field so far.

Are you serious? Can you honestly tell me that JJ has had more "on days" than "off days"?
