Probably not the wealthiest, but certainly one of the most most courteous & helpful. Fine representative of the Tiger fanbase.

I graduated from a school on that list. Where the hell are my billions? Damn it.

The problem is that the richest people send their kids primarily to the top 6 (except maybe Penn) schools on that list. So, they get to network with each other, and leverage daddy's hundreds of millions into billions (too cynical?). So, if you didn't go into one of those schools already rich, you're unlikely to make billions.

Just as many self-made billioniares, maybe more, than Ivy League educated billionaires. I once represented a guy who dropped out of school in the 10th grade, worked in welding and construction (oilfield) and personally built a company from the ground up that generates something like $10 million/year in sales, and operates with about 15 people.

He's not a billionaire, but he didn't spend a quarter of a million dollars on and education, either.

James Bernhard, of Shaw Group, had front-end loaders full of money showing up at his front door every day.

There are a helluva lot of oil men and family out there who are "filthy-rich" beyond your wildest imagination. Taylor's widow is the billionairre on Forbes latest list when you google the billionairre club. We at LSU have an amazing Oil & Gas who's who in American Business.

My paltry sum (real estate mostly) is chicken feed in comparison, and I'll only say that I haven't reached my "A" Goal yet, but we're getting close. What I have took me over 30 years to accumulate, and I started with nothing but a hard-on and an LSU education in the late 1970's. I made it honestly, and when I geaux to that great gridiron in the sky, I'm leaving a nice chunk to LSU for all the wonderful things in life they've given me. I've travelled the world over and have seen amazing things and places and I could live almost anywhere on earth, but my heart has always belonged to Louisiana, and I thank GOD every day for the simple good things we have right here. There really isn't ANYTHING ANYWHERE better than what we have in Louisiana. In that respect, we're all rich.

Cook, Pennington, Campbell, Flores, Taylor, and Martin families are all up there...

I've met one of the Exxon VP's who's an LSU Alum. I'm sure he's rolling in it too...

I was lucky enough to meet Pat Taylor on a few occasions. Class act. He was a big admirer of Ronald Reagan.

Now I need to call my son at LSU and get him looking for that young lady mentioned earlier.

i was actually related to him, met him many a times (guess what kinda pull that has when applying to an LSU graduate school)...my grandma dixie taylor was living in our home towards the end of the life...he rarely drove anywhere but he took a helicopter...he landed it in the middle of the golf course in the backyard when he came to visit her...lots of money

The only thing in my wallet most of the time is receipts for what I bought when I briefly HAD a few bucks on payday, but I certainly agree with this reasoning:

Very well said.
