We telegraph every play we run with the formation and personel package.

What makes the wild cat and the spread effective is that an offense can run virtually any play from the same formation. Defenses have to play in a base formation to defend such an offense.

What makes our offense so bad is that we have a different formation and personel package for every play we run. This allows defenses to easily predict what is comming and design a scheme to stop it.

It also explains why Crowton is effective in year one (when no one knows what he is going to show them), and usually out of a job by the end of year three (when his offense is obvious).

Your statement cannot be correct because it doesn't put at least 87% of the blame on JJ, nor does it praise JL for his untapped awesomeness. Therefore, you fail.

Yeah, and Saban will eat this up, along with any tipoffs by lineman or backs. Heard up here that one reason Arky D looked good against Fla was the Fla guys were tipping the play and Arky D knew when the dive or a pass was coming.

Something that definitely needs to be addressed before Bama.

Dude,

Did you watch Bama play last week? They lined Ingram up in the Wildcat and everybody in the stadium knew he was going to run it. Telegraph it? Hell, they put it on the side of the blimp...and STILL he made over 200 yards. Telegraphing is a minor problem, granted, but the O-line is not holding or opening holes. THAT's the major problem.

Add the recievers to. Their blocking has been bad for the most part.

I didn't see much of it. Did they line him up back there and then stand around for 25 seconds, or did they snap it pretty quick? Makes a difference in my opinion, not to mention was he already on the field or did they run him in just to run that play.

You are excatly right. We have so many different formations, there are only a certain number of plays we can run from each one. While our Oline needs lots of work, Crowton needs to make some changes in a hurry, or he will be gone.

WANNA WRECK DEFENSES DESIGN FOR WILDCAT? GO BACK TO OLD i FORMATIONS SPLIT BACKS, RECEIVERS IN MOTION...QB UNDER CENTER...BASIC PLAYS PASSING AND RUNNING.........DEFENSE'S MORE LIKELY FORGOT HOW TO DEFEND THIS

Wrong uniforms, wrong QB, wrong plays, bad O-line, no blocking, WR's can't catch, RB's can't run, the weather, Miles, Crowton, Chavis.....etc...

Did I cover all the typical responses from the negatigers?

Give JJ and the O-line some time to mature into their abilities and this team will be rockin. It's not gonna happen overnight.

Bulletproof and Chimlim, I agree with you. I have been telling my dad all year that teams no what we're going to run based on our personnel groupings.

I agree. This is a Crowton issue and it didn't start this year.

Thanks. Not a negatiger either. I might be the last Miles fan in Baton Rouge.

I think this offense could be very good, we just need to simplify it.

What does "to the R etc etc. mean? Is this english language? I can tell that word that was spelled out but don't understand the "to the" part??? Isn't it suppose to be done like this: C.R.O.W.T.O.N???

See, if this is the problem, we are really in trouble, because then it doesn't matter who we put on the field. If Crowton's plays really are that easy to read, then we could put the 2004 USC offense on the field and not get results.

However, I don't think any OC in the country could have plays that are that easy to read. I think that our QB's still have only a tenuous grasp of the playbook, therefore limiting the amount of plays called.
