Like others said, it is a problem with the Oline not blocking and JJ being inexperienced and indecisive. There were multiple plays that he took a sack and had an open receiver over the middle and did not make it. He is trying not to turn the ball over. He is young and should turn it around once he gets more confident in his decision making.

Not totally the O-line/. JJ tends to be indecisive, holds on to the ball too long. He needs to spend some time watching Drew Bress.

The kid has a ton of talent and hopefully experience will help him.

On another note they need to quit running the option unless RS is running it it.

maybe you should watch drew brees. when the opposing team can pressure brees just rushing 3 or 4 he also becomes indecisive. did you watch last weeks game? I also think it is a little unfair to compare the best qb in the nfl to a guy making his 7th start or whatever in college ball.

at least our running game is starting to get hot going into this next game.. should take at least some pressure off JJ.. not that he'll be feeling any pressure or anything............

"The line may be more mobile, but they can't blow anyone off the ball. Instead of 330 pounder like big Herman, you are running behind a 290 pounder. This has made a difference. Numbers don't lie."

They don't appear very mobile to me. They may be "undersized" at 290, but they still look like fat boys out there. Size alone is not as important as ability. Let's get some strong, skilled, muscular linemen out there than can move and push.

It seems like we have lost 3 or 4 OL in the past 3 years. The only one I can name is Jarvis Jones who would probably be in the mix if he was still on the team. There was one who transferred to TX Southern and I think there was one more kid from TX who I think transferred to A&M.

This has to be affecting what's going on. Plus we let a couple of good OL recruits end up on teams like Ole Miss.

The OL is the only true weakness I see on this team. All other parts seem to be getting the job done. The bad news is - you don't fix this overnight. I think you acknowledge it and game plan around it. No more 4th and 1 running plays
between the tackles. I don't think Miles will accept this and if he doesn't it will cost him in another big game ,IMO.

And read the article on espn.con about the TD run by scot at the end of the game. Crowton wanted to throw a pass and play fora 50 yard FG. Jordan had to point out to him that the run to the left side was working.

That plays success had nothing to do with our decision...........it had everything to do with UGA missing tackles (3 missed tackles to be exact). It was actually defended against pretty well and should have only resulted in a one yard gain.

Looking back in hind sight is a pretty easy thing to do. It was 2nd down and 5 to go. We had just come out of a timeout with another to spare. 54 seconds left on the clock, ball on the UGA 33. Either a run or high percentage short pass would have been equally acceptable. Our goal at that moment was to get the first down and move the ball closer SHOULD we have to kick a field goal.

is the offensive line.

Fortunately, our play-calling is so imaginative that defenses can only afford to put eight or nine in the box.

I'm with you. I just don't know why our six or seven can't block their eight or nine.

I dont object to the call as much as the formation used. Sure, a FG would have been the safe bet. But once you decide to go for it, why the hell would you choose that formation knowing that you havent exactly been blowing teams off the line all year? The defense didnt have to take into account anything BUT the QB sneak.

For me the bone head call was the formation

Yea, totally agree.

I really don't understand why we(or any team for that matter) doesn't line up 5 WR or at least 4 WR when they wanna run a QB sneak.

Wouldn't it make sense to spread the field instead of having 10 men in the box?

I never quite understood why teams don't do that in QB sneak situations.

I haven't read the article so maybe I'm misunderstanding here.

But you say Crowton wanted to throw a pass, then you say he wanted to play for a 50 yard FG???

Wouldn't passing mean he's trying to NOT play for the FG, and running Scott on 2nd down mean he is playing for the FG???

If you're talking about the Bills game, the Bills were sending the house as much as possible.

And in all fairness, what QB looks good when the D is dropping 7 AND getting pressure with there front 4?

+ 1...

if you have power..go up the middle.
if you have speed, go wide.

we can not move my grandma off the line and AFTER GIVING GA A HEADS UP...WE TRY UP THE MIDDLE.

NO SURPRISE, NO SCHEME ????

that' the kind of play drawn on paper and that ego will not allow them to admit that IT WILL NOT WORK...
for whatever reason..our OL, does not move anyone off the line....

He is probably got priorities in his young playing period. 1. no pick 6's (i.e., throwing on the corners near LSU goal line)2.No int( on LSU's side of the field, period.i noticed he will through to the middle in the red zone, but it went through the receivers hands on his best chance. he doesn't want to be the reason they are 2TD's behind going into the 4th quarter. he probably thinks just stay in striking distance,in tough road games, but that might change. I don't think he's scared of anything else .

You took the words out of my mouth. I was thinking the same thing this morning. Watch Brees and his footwork, make quicker decisions, and if it's an option play(please let RS run the option).

On the option JJ does not hold on to the ball long enough. Looks like don't want to take the hit.
