Juluke's attention to detail would be a necessity on the sidelines with CM since both of his cooardinators are in the press box...
This is what Ensminger does, and what Grimes will do as well.

I would say Ensminger(sp)is at risk as a current member of the coaching staff..too much smoke swirling around his taking an administrative role...viewed as a liability on the retruiting trail in N. Louisiana

You keep saying words like failure and disaster like we DIDNT have an incredible recruiting class.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he meant that the instate recruiting of the Top Dogs was close to a disaster. If we had missed on Dupree, most wouldve considered the instate recruiting as a failure. We were fortunate at the end with Clark, Teuhema, Valentine and Malachi, to put us where we all expected to be before the recruiting season started. Next time, we may not be so fortunate.
I am confident that LSU will be more efficient in the years to come.
I also believe that this will not be the last time a bumper instate crop holds the state institution hostage. ESPN has gotten very good at getting the Top 300 to commit (silence) to them.
But even a die hard like me knows, we dodged a bullet. Malachi and Clark coming on board really helped restore the confidence.

I honestly believe that Jaluke not turned down the St. Aug job they would be your 5A state champs and not Rummel. Had Jaluke stayed at Karr they would be your 4A state champs and not EJ.

We narrowly avoided a disaster of a class by flipping commitments, going after Valentine, Jamal Adams, and we ended up offering back end kids including a walk on kicker without signing 25 when we already weren't very close to 85.
We were able to do so. But at the same time, we lost a four star defensive lineman, a five star offensive lineman and a five star wide receiver, all from in state, two of which were Frank's speciality, one of which is his relative.
How you qualify that as not being disastrous is somewhat naive. You act as if since we pulled a great class by winning some BIGTIME late flips and guys like Adams and Valentine late in the process that's a validation of what we did in state?
We signed a great class but we jacked Louisiana completely up and that isn't for debate. We were supposed to coast into NSD and turn kids away, in a class primarily stocked with La talent.
That didn't happen. But hey, if you wanna refer to Noil and Willis fooling us on national TV and signing with teams on our schedule annually using a different adjective, I'll give you the opportunity to use it here.
But to act like it wasn't a symptom of a problem is naive, like I said...

The ends don't always justify the means. Nick Saban is proof of that. All I'm saying is that if you want to depend on us doing what we need to finish with the class that we did, you and many others will be fairly pissed more often than not, because LSU isn't going to do that in most years.
There's a reason QA departments exist and that large companies and organizations have After Action Reports even when things went well.
It's like saying, well, I got that liver transplant...guess I'm okay to go right on drinking! No dumbass, you lucked out. Recognize it and make changes to lifestyle and life choices accordingly.
We made a lot of errors in state that we cleaned up out of state. Depending on that is fool's gold.
Being happy with this class does not mean I can't be objective and recognize problems with how we got to NSD.

Only thing is you're not being objective.
No team can keep all the players from their respective state, in state.
To think they can is ridiculous.
I'm not trying to be a jerk here but here are some examples:
Kelvin Sheppard (Stone Mountain, GA)
Patrick Peterson (Pompano Beach, FL)
Spencer Ware (Cincinatti, OH)
Current Players on the roster:
Kwon Alexander (forget the town but he's from Alabama)
Christian LaCouture (Nebraska)
Clifton Garrett (Illinois)
Jamal Adams (can't remember where he's from but it is out of state)
quote:
Nick Saban is proof of that
The obsession with this guy is nuts. "He's Saban. He can get any player he wants."
Well, probably not.
We get the #1 recruit in the country. The country (who Saban also recruited). The #1 safety and the #2 safety. The #1 middle linebacker. The #1 WR (Dupre), the WR who shattered the national receiving record (Quinn). Several recruits that were thought to not come here and yet some still did.
Again, not trying to be a jerk to you personally but you aren't being objective by any means. You're comparing what Alabama did vs LSU's signing class. Alabama finished 1st, we finished 2nd and took several players Alabama wanted badly.
I hardly see our recruiting class as "lucking out." Nobody twisted these kids arms to come here.
For them to do it on their own, says a lot about our program and our coaches.
