Nov. 2002 at Arkansas
LSU leads Arkansas 17-14 and has a 4th and 1 1/2 deep in UA territory. Saban decides to kick a FG for a 20-14 lead instead of letting Randall run for the first.
Arkansas gets the kickoff and is deep in their own territory. Matt Jones is like 2-17, but throws not one, but TWO Hail Marys - one to midfield, the next for a TD as the game ends.
If not for that, we may played in Atlanta three straight years.......

I swear I was about to post this play. Alot of the recent ones hurt, but for some reason this one always stood out to me.

I just saw the link to the PI call from that game and it pissed me off. I am angry now.

Everything Auburn has done in terms of the Cam Newton episode and Tommy Tuberville's shady dealings that came to light after the fact validate what we already knew - Auburn university has institutionalized cheating in football.

That one drive also served as motivation for the team in the off-season. The coaches and players watched those plays over and over again and reminded themselves of how it felt. So while it hurt at the time, I look at it as the catalyst for much bigger things.

Oklahoma State kicker Quinn Sharp's wide right 37-yard field goal with 1:17 remaining at Iowa State, Friday night, November 18, 2011. It looked good on my TV set. The best early Christmas present Alabama ever got.

LSU vs Auburn 04 was no picnic either...and because of that, Auburn was undefeated (like 2010).

That did suck, and if I remember correctly it was an illegal formation penalty!

There was so much blatant cheating going on in the '06 Auburn game that I will never forget that one. Auburn getting an extra shot at the missed PAT in the '04 game due to that gay leaping penalty drove me crazy too!

This one. Not so much because of the call, but because of the timing of it. That was the only time I'd ever seen that call, before or after.

LSU got crushed by UGA 2 games later, plus USC and OU went undefeated, so in the grand scheme of things this play may not of meant that much. But Auburn essentially got "do over" just like Syracuse and Xaiver in this year's NCAAT. If it's a penalty, fine, call it all time, not selectively at big points in the game.

Should have been good. Yes, the ball went "over" the right upright, but it clearly was on the "inside" part of the imaginary upright, which means it would have glanced "inside" and thus good.
Because of that bad call - we now have the 2011 Unifalsity of Alashama Mulligumpneck Crimson Faces as faux 'national champions.'
