If you're going to tailgate, bring enough of your own bags.

Bring a couple of extra contactor grade trash bags with you. That's what I do.

Whoevers tailgate you are going to surely brings a lot of tailgating equipment out there, right? A couple of trash bags shouldn't be hard to bring.

That's because they put like 300 out on Friday at 4pm and the fraternities take them all. We had 5 in our space on Friday before we left and 3 were gone by morning.

We also were on the lookout in the morning for the guys that distribute the cans on a trailer but they never came around.

They passed on tower drive around 9:15-9:30. Got three from them then.

This has nothing to do with LSU. They have ample trash cans. It has to do with the fraternity tailgates just leaving everything on the ground because they use the trash cans as keg holders.

Way to blame it on one group of people. There were 50k people on the parade grounds, LSU ain't that Greek.

Trash cans were clearly knocked over, this happened a couple years ago at a UK game too.

What happened to bringing your own garbage out? You brought it, haul it out. It's not that hard people if you aren't lazy slobs.

At your house, when your kitchen garbage can is full, what do you do? Do you start tossing things on the ground, or do you get another bag out? Same thing should happen when you're out tailgating - once the can is full, you reach into the box of garbage bags, pull one out, and start using it.

Really easy to tell which fans really love LSU out there. They're the ones who make sure their area doesn't look like a dump when they leave.

ETA: 50 contractor grade bags for $26. You're set for the season.

You've clearly driven the Louisiana roads and noticed the sides of the roads. Does this really surprise you?

I've been tailgating on the PG for 10 years now. I know where every one of them sets up and where the non-Greek groups are.

The mess is overwhelmingly concentrated in the area of the fraternities. Some do pick up, most do not.

Yes, the cans are turned over by the people looking for the aluminum but the mess isn't just 5-10 feet around a single can on its side. It's crap everywhere.

Bring your own trash bags.

I'd rather see them put more portable bath rooms out there.

Indeed, but LSU should do a much better job of waste management before the game. It was an ocean of garbage walking back to the truck.

Or people should understand basic camping concepts and bring their own contractor bags.

Or people just take an ounce of responsibility for their own shite. "Oh, no trash can, let me go ahead and punt this empty beer can into the street"

OK, same here but I disagree.

It just isn't fair to blame a mess in the most highly trafficked area of campus outside the stadium area on game day on one group of people. There are tons of non Greek tailgater's on the PG, and I will say with confidence they outnumber the Greeks by a wide margin.

I can see Alleva running the meeting now....

"Ok, I'm planning to have 5 trash cans on the parade grounds this week."

Don't you think he has bigger things on his plate? Like getting Tom Cruise in his suite.

Or how about a combination of both? My people do bring their own bags and my tailgate area is spotless 30 minutes before kickoff.

However, in the past 10 or so years many fans have been somewhat spoiled by LSU providing adequate trash cans on game day in their tailgate area. Yesterday, for whatever reasons, there were not enough trash cans as many have come to expect.

The mess is concentrated around the Greek groups, though. They very well are outnumbered but they certainly out trash the non-Greek groups. And it's because they take the yellow cans and use them as keg holders.

How is Alleva responsible for this?

It's the American way now. Self responsibility is becoming a thing of the past.

frickers can drop thousands of dollars on tailgating equipment, (trailers, DJ equipment, tables, chairs, food, cups, etc), but frick spending an extra $20 on a box of contractor bags that will cover an entire season and throw their trash in it as the day goes along. It isn't their job to do that because LSU doesn't put out enough trash cans

Face it, a good portion of our tailgating fan base is trashy

I was being sarcastic by blaming Alleva. He can't stop the trash from trashing.

Start fining dirty tailgating spots? LSU can definitely tell people not to tailgate somewhere and can definitely choose who can tailgate where

They usually drop off 4 yellow cans in our area. Yesterday the lady said they were out. which i didn't understand. If they have cans every week for every area and for one game they are completely out of cans? WTF? she did give us the big plastic leaf bags to collect our trash in, which we did.
