It's good.

# 2 recruiting class with several key contributors in year 1. That is good.

Eventually Harris will understand the playbook and take over.. At this point we should take our lumps with Jennings and not force Harris.

Anyone who thinks Jennings is playing because the coaches think he is the better QB is wrong. They are not playing the better QB. They are playing the better manager right now. When Harris understands the ins and outs of the playbook he will take the field.

I hope Cam's playbook is not on the same level as his NFL playbook. College kids just don't have the time to be in the playbook all day.

This. I'm looking forward to seeing how this team responds these last two games. If its the same as they have thus far, thats good news for the next few years.

Remember folks, after Auburn this board was trying to find enough wins for this team to get bowl eligible. Three weeks later, were talking about getting into the playoffs.

Having a successful year with this much young and unproven talent is huge. These next few years should be a lot of fun.

The staff is playing the qb that they think gives the team the best chance of winning RIGHT NOW...and that's what matters right now. Next spring, the qb battle will begin again and I don't see how Harris does not win that competition.

It's really pretty simple. If LSU can somehow find a QB that can complete more than 12 passes a game consistently and make the defense just somewhat respect the passing game then they will go undefeated.

It's really all about finding a serviceable quarterback.

What we have right now will literally crush any National Title hopes for next year.

last season disproves this theory, wouldn't you say?

I have no link... so take it for what it's worth as it is second hand info from someone who does know a bit more than me.

At points in practice and even in games Harris has mixed multiple plays together when calling them in the huddle. It's something that with film study and work with the OC he will improve upon.

Mett crapped the bed against Ole Miss.

Defense was suspect early in the season similar to this year (Georgia)

how?

Last year the defense wasn't near as good as it will be next year.

We are going to have a top 5 defense next year and a top 10 player at running back.

Then look at what every team is losing. Miss. State will be down. Ole Miss will about the same. Bama will be breaking in a new QB once more. Texas A&M is a wild card. Auburn will be replacing a lot of starters. Arkansas is garbage.

All we need is a QB who just makes the defense put 8 men in the box instead of 9. That's it.

You are right. A lot of improvement happened during that time. But none of it was at QB. Hence the prevalence of pessimism.

Everyone is always talking about the "complexity" of the playbook... I'm just not getting it. We run a very simple offense. The most confusing thing I see is the dumb check with me. Three times!

This is assuming the JRs come back. Which has not happened in the past few years. LSU will go through growing pains again next year.

The offense this year does appear simple... But that is not the offense that Cam wants to run. He wants to run what we had last year... the offense that was complicated... The offense that had a 3000 yard passer two 1000 yard receivers and a 1000 yard rusher.

We still have a chance at a 10-3 season! Who would have ever thought that this year.

Les needs to stop his "If you want to go don't let the door hit you in the arse mentality towards the juniors. If he recruited them as hard to stay as he did to go to LSU it might help. Of course we could always do what an unnamed Crimson school does to keep them $$$

Or....

Miles sticks with AJ and were destined for offensive mediocrity (if we're lucky) the next 2 years and our stellar freshman class leaves w/AJ his senior year and Harris is left with one depleted year to start.

This scenario keeps me up at night.

No matter what we have Beckwith, Adams, Godchaux, LaCouture, White, maybe Robinson. Then you have 2 linebackers with plenty of experience starting outside Beckwith. Add in our DB recruiting the past few years and you are literally just looking at replacing the Defensive Ends.

Next year's defense is going to be stout.

Ya, having to call a timeout after a timeout is fricking piss poor.

The logistics of getting a play call in are absurd at LSU
