while many had seemed to have written them off (or sounded like it with their frustration) they were not necessarily the same people that wanted PM fired. and to say that half of LSU baseball fans want him fired is preposterous.
there seems to be a "core" of fans that want CPM fired and their reasoning is not enough World Series victories or championships. today's game did nothing to change these peoples mind.

They may have in 1986, seeing as that was the first time in recent memory that the did that. I don't think they did in 1990, but I definitely know that after 1990 Skip said lsu spent too much emotion along the way and arrived at Omaha running on fumes. That 1990 regional beating USC twice at this end was epic. There was actually a newspaper column in 1991 after lsu won the regional saying, "this time it feels different. The team did the ritual dogpile but it seemed as if after that there was a sense of "unfinished business" amongst the team and the fans."

In case you don't remember, Lane Mestapay (sp) was injured in a dogpile and it ruined our chances in the CWS. That is why a lot of people get a bit anxious when they see one.

"Over the top"? Go tell that to the players, the guys to whom this trophy means the most. Young college kids laughing & having a ball in celebrating a championship & stick in the muds, who probably never won anything, are telling these kids how to celebrate.
