According to some of my sunshine pumping relatives. They claimed it was simply a matter of execution. I won't go as far as to say it was radically different, but anybody that says it was the EXACT same is majorly butt hurt

As if execution just magically happened once Les left. It should be easy to understand that "execution" is difficult when the defense knows what's coming and can stack the box against the run.

They are the bleeding hearts that held this program back the last two years because they kept supporting Miles even when he took our talent advantage and threw it out the window to simply ram the offense into a brick wall.

Look, the dude is obviously frustrated with his relatives inability to recognize that a record setting offense from a lackluster offense within a week is directly related to the coaching change.

Lets just agree with him and give him upvotes so that he will feel better before he has to go argue with the less knowledgable relatives again.

Its ok OP, i agree with you.

Does this even make any sense at all as a descriptor anymore?

I only saw one pitch dive and it was inside the 5 and for a TD.
Also, saw no TE End arounds.

Do you know what the word "exactly" means?

It is true. I looked at the names on the back of the uniforms last night.

EXACTLY the same names.

So one coach could get them to execute and one could not. I think we see which coach any logical person would want coaching the team this year then.

If they honestly believe that we ran the EXACT same offense as before, what does that say about Miles? We didn't even have to change anything to be immensely better. The only difference is that he and Cam aren't here.

Either that or we tweaked things and changed a little being more effective. Either way, Miles looks bad, IMO.

It may be In-Laws.

If so, I think a divorce lawyer should be his next call

Yeah we typically run a lot of 4 wide sets.

The number of toss dives probably was at least cut 60-70%.

I think execution played a larger part than alot people want to give it credit for. We still ran right at Mizzou when they stacked the box and gashed them.

My point is not to dog the coaching staff though. We threw it 20 times in the 1st half, and if they can't even stop slow down the run with a stacked box why change things. Last night was fun, but we still won't know much until next week on the road against Florida's front seven.

There was one major difference I noticed. They kept crashing that painted line on the field that was wider than the other lines. Also, the grass after they crossed that line was yellow and had LSU painted on it, what was up with that?

I mean...it was the same offense. Do you guys actually think you can install a whole new scheme in 5 days? They ran the same plays they ran all year, just against a bad team and w/ much better flow and execution.

It's not like they started running zone read out there. they even ran the toss dive.

Subtlety is lost on this board. The changes weren't drastic. How the hell could they be in what basically turned into a 4 day prep week with the coaching change.

The changes were fairly subtle, but they were real. There was more personnel rotation early in the game. There was less reliance on I early in the game, but it was still there. But there was more single back with 2 TEs, and we both passed and ran out of that formation. The ball was distributed to 9 different guys, including the TEs and FBs. We passed enough early (especially to Dupre) to set up the run. It was enough to jumpstart the run game and get into a flow. Once the offense found its rhythm, that was it.

I would expect to see more of the same, with the gradual addition of wrinkles until the bye week. After that, we may see more substantial additions or subtractions when the staff has adequate time to implement them. No matter what, we will know more after this week against a much tougher D on the road.

Like everything here, people believe you're either on one side of the fence or the other. You either think we ran Chip Kelly's offense or you want Miles back and think we are the same. There can't possibly be a stance in the middle.
