This is the problem.

1. He already got luck with Mett and we had a nice year so clap clap.
2. The fact that a $4 million football coach needs to rely on find a QB capable of playing the game of football is hilarious.

Excellent perspective and I agree 100%. I choose to believe the future is bright and Coach Miles will lead.

I will judge Miles by his performance in his next SEC Championship or National Championship game.

At this point everything he has done is just window washing, just like last year, and the year before that, so far it is just a shell game ...

Goatman you nailed it! You win football games in the trenches. If you don't have physical off and defensive lines you are not going to win many games even if you have all the skill players in the world. You have to control the line of scrimmage and wear down the opponent.

you have written what i see!!

p.s. haley came w/ chavis. the negative talk between the two must have killed the d. chavis has to take haley w/ him. if he doesn't, chavis is dirty on all sides.

Miles is going to double down and triple down on this approach. He is in his 60's and not interested in being known as a coach who innovated or adjusted to finesse.

For me this is saying Miles is stubborn, which unfortunately it may bring LSU football down.

As I'm approaching 60's too, I can relate to Miles' stubbornness. However, LSU football is much bigger than Miles' ego. As an LSU Tigers fan, I hope Miles will prove me wrong though!

Don't you just hate a stubborn coach? Don't you wish that Miles would panic and change with the wind? If the team doesn't score the first time with the ball, throw out the game plan and immediately go to another offense. Panic and indecision is way better than working a well thought out game plan any day.

Miles has many of the LSU fanatical faithful persuaded and convinced.

I think that they are being "played."

Oregon was in the National Championship game in 2014.

That's not too shabby.

I agree that power football never goes out of style. What I'm not sure of is whether Coach Miles is going to be tremendously successful in the execution of his brand of "power football."

Power Football teams do not beat themselves with errors in execution of power football. Power football teams don't stall for one or two quarters per game. LSU makes lots of mental errors, stalls for long periods and starts very slow very often ( and often finishes slow, especially this past season).

So, I'm not completely convinced that LSU is going to display excellent "Power Football".

We shall see.

No disagreement. Miles is going to do this his way and seek to be able to live or die by his way. Stronger recruiting and Cam rising up and truly developing one of the 2 QB's on the roster will be 90% of how far this team can go with this approach.

it's not conservative football! Did you not watch "the ohio state university" RUN over the ducks? Defense wins championships, offense sells tickets!

Only if the offense has a reasonable balance, which tOSU certainly did have. Defense does not win championships. See 1/9 for your proof.

Don't know if they are elite but, where was LSU?
Wish LSU had a third string QB like Cardale.

This is why he recruits QB's that are runners more times than not. (He inherited them, but Jamarcus Russell (physical) and Matt Flynn (strong runner) exhibited this physicality, and fortunately also the ability to pass).

From all the runs we ran with Jamarcus

So how do you judge ayear that we win the SEC but lose teh MNC? Is it a success?

People who call for Miles' head because of 1/9/12 are morons. Only one team in the entire nation played better than us that year and we beat them at their home.

Win that last game and we are talking about the greatest season of college football of all time. Lose the game and he should be fired? It just doesn't make sense.

Read the whole thing. But I don't see any of this being nearly as rosy as you do. I believe miles will be gone after the 2016 season. The next two years and his forced exit won't be pretty. His stubbornness and ignorance will be his absolute downfall . Even saban sees the need for revamping the whole offensive strategy.
