Coach has 3 inner values that seems inseperable

1) RELATIONSHIPS - Listen to (or read) the Pressers yesterday and see how many times he mentions this. Of course you don't need the pressers as evidence to this, as we have seen his moves and ways over 10 years, and he has consistently showed how important this is to him.

2) LOYALTY - This maybe should be 1a instead of 2, but it is such a strong quality of Coach that it deserves to be a separately-listed value.

3) CONSERVATIVE/PHYSICAL FOOTBALL - His background with Bo, along with successes he has had at the collegiate level, continue to lean him to this quality. Under Miles, finesse or spread-like offenses will only be entertained if there is simply no other way.

These qualities translate to all of his decisions. His hiring of Steele and Orgeron relfect this. How he did the search and how and when he announced his decisions reveled these 3 factors. His loyalty was burned by Chavis. Miles had super swag at his presser yesterday. He had a "I'll show you all" attitude, and you can bet that he was aiming that at the press and at Chavis to send a message that they had damaged their relationship with him as had Chavis.

His recruiting strength extends from getting EXPERTS AT RELATIONSHIPS, who he gets to become LOYAL TO HIM and HIS PHILOSOPHY. Steele + Orgeron + Wilson = consistent proof that he hires guys who possess his same qualities in this area.

Recruiting of players and staff/coaches is what makes Coach among the best, and RELATIONSHIPS and LOYALTY are the basis of this strength, and the base of his LSU program.

CONSERVATIVE/PHYSICAL FOOTBALL is in his blood. This is why he recruits QB's that are runners more times than not. (He inherited them, but Jamarcus Russell (physical) and Matt Flynn (strong runner) exhibited this physicality, and fortunately also the ability to pass). Since then, we know the story, and his proclivity for recruiting physical-Running-capable QB's has nor changed. He needs to get lucky and find another Flynn, who is the best match to his style and championship ball, and so far the over focus on running has not brought such a QB onboard.

When I saw Les yesterday at his presser, I saw a man who is aware of the extent of criticism. I saw a man who felt betrayed by some in the press and administration and fanbase. I saw a man who had that "I'll show them all" attitude in his eyes. He was sassy and full of swag.

Miles is going to double down and triple down on this approach. He is in his 60's and not interested in being known as a coach who innovated or adjusted to finesse.

He knows that he has a potential Peyton superstar in the wings with Shea Patterson, so in the mean time, he will perfect his brand and build on it with Shea like he did with Mett, and recruit better overall QB's in the time moving forward. He knows that Valentine and others will restore the interior Defensive line, which is an essential element in Miles's brand of football. He wants coach Orgeron to come in and produce a dominant DLINE in the true tradition of LSU football. He knows that the recruiting and loyalty and relationship-building of Steele, along with his ability to coach LB's much better than Chavis, will more than offset the loss of Chavis. He knows that Fournette and the amazing skill players and DBU will all be in place for the next 2-5 years. The pipeline is solid and about to get better.

Miles is going to win HIS WAY. Someone ought to do a video of him singing the old Sinatra song.

Miles is about to shut everyone the EFF up. He has his swag in full display.

Miles's next 5 years will be an extension of the golden era of LSU football which has extended over a decade as of now, and He is motivated to "show them all" that Miles is going to do it his way, and that way is going to win even more games than before.

Playing boring football nobody wants to watch unless it's against a top 10 team? Fantastic.

He'll have to win more than before if we are going to win any championships.

I will judge Miles by his performance in his next SEC Championship or National Championship game.

Your post is thoughtful, persuasive and inspiring. It's also accurate in that Miles is going to "double down and triple down" on his approach. No question that Miles wants to do this and will do this.

There's no logical reason to be certain that he will succeed in his next championship game, however. Recall that he failed miserably in his previous attempt. Also recall that Miles is a leader who will make a mistake and later REPEAT the error. I can't be confident in that kind of leadership.

How is fan boredom due to playing cupcakes a Miles problem?
LSU fans are spoiled and only want to see good games. They complain about playing cupcakes.

Faull lies in the fans if they only like to watch top 10 match ups.

How is physically dominating teams not fun? I don't understand why some of you guys want to flash and spread offense. Football is about breaking wills not who's the flashest. Ohio St won the National Title because of physically dominating soft arse Oregon. The game was over before halftime not by score but you could see it in OU players demeanor. To physically dominate a team is the most joy I get out of football and it's still the way to win football titles and always will be. Yes our qb's need to get better and our recievers need to start catching the ball but boring?? Not even close.

Agreed.

One thing I like about the miles era is the physical run you over first mentality.
Completing a pass would really bring his teams some hardware.

It's not. Cupcake games are fine provided we:

1. Play all of them in TS
2. Don't look like shite at times....see NMSU
3. Quit letting inferior teams hang around.

Seriously, how old are you?

Miles didn't recruit either of them.

Now go back and look at all the QBs at LSU that Miles actually recruited and tell me where they are? (of course Mett is in the NFL, but he was a stud in JUCO who won the JUCO NC not a high school recruit)

Yes it is time that Miles WIN a Championship on his own. 10 Years and this man has not recruited are developed a QB that is capable of winning a National Championship and whats sad it doesn't appear that he is learning anything EXAM Crowton had Flynn running the pistol ect the next year Miles demands his OC run his DINOSAUR Offense, no pistol, no screens, no quick tosses, no TE play

La di da
this is where we pretend that Miles doesn't coach an especially unpleasing to watch style of football.

It's all about the fans inadequacies of course. It must be because we want to be Oregon.

You're right about one thing, it is fantastic.

I watch every game, (do you?) and the last thing I would call them is boring. It's LSU football - traditional LSU football.

If you don't like it then you don't like LSU style of football. Go cheer for Oregon. Is their team/coach still elite after they shite the bed on Monday against a 3rd string QB?
