The last time UGA came to Tiger Stadium...

I can't believe that epic game between two top ten teams was five years ago. It was a brutal defensive struggle. In fact, it was probably the best defensive performance I have ever witnessed by an LSU team.
On offense, little Shyrone Carey made his presence felt that day with a memorable juke.
After UGA tied the game with a fortuitously timed 90 yard screen pass, the Tiger Stadium faithful spontaneously began chanting "LSU! LSU!" We would not let the pulse of victory fade. This wasn't 1998. Things were going to be different in 2003. "Catastrophe syndrome" died that day. Devery Henderson returned the ensuing kickoff to midfield. Then, on a critical third down, Matt Mauck rolled left, looking for Clayton on an underneath route. Clayton was blanketed, but Sklyer Green improvised and streaked down field on a deep route. Mauck, about to be obliterated by an oncoming linebacker, somehow glimpsed Skyler and lobbed up a perfect pass into the north endzone. Two seconds later, the student section exploded.
LSU 17 UGA 10
But it wasn't over. UGA QB Green marched the Dawgs back into LSU territory with 45 seconds left in the game. The Georgia contingent thought overtime was all but fated. Green, looking to devour yards, launched a dangerous pass down the east sideline. Corey Webster reached back, tipped the ball just at it arrived at the receiver, and then picked it out of mid-air. He raced westward across the field and slid triumphantly to the turf.
Tigers win.

The greatest memory I have of that entire season was after UGA scored that long 90yd touchdown to tie it. The entire stadium immediately went into the loudest LSU chant I've ever heard in my life. I'm about to tear up just thinking about it.

We then met up in the SEC Championship Game and demolished them. Yeah, baby.

I watched the very sad GA fans walk out of the stadium. I told them that we would play them again for the SEC championship. But I had no idea we would crush them in that game.
Good post.
Good post.

Props to Devery Henderson for his KO return to mid field after the late UGA score. Kept the crowd pumped.

Shyrone Carey
I was sitting in the student section for that game. It was unbelievable seeing Skyler Green running right at the student section and the ball falling into his hands 30 ft in front of me. One of my favorite games ever in TS.

That was a great game...Reading your post I remember how sick I was when they ran that 90 yard screen...We had that game well in hand and that play brought them back. When we scored that last TD, it felt like I was finally able to breathe again.

What a great day that was. My dad was was an honorary guest captain for that game, so we got field passes and I got to watch the pregame show from the sideline. And then I watched one of the best games I've ever witnessed in Tiger Stadium.

I was there in the student section.... like 10 yards from the winning TD catch. Can't believe it's been 5 years already. Time flies so fast.
One of the best game ever in TS.

I drank a bunch of white russians and vomited all over a buddy's front porch right after the Mauck-Green touchdown.
Man my wife was pissed. Good times.
