After a while, 9-10 win seasons while finishing no better than 3rd in the SEC West is no different than being winless.

Speaking from a fan who endured Curley Hallman's five year plan, I can guarantee you that's not the same.

You make some very valid points, but not making change for fear of failure going forward does not seem like the best strategy. We are in it to win SEC and National championships if we start getting further from our goals rather than closer to our goals "13-1, 10-3, 10-3 and 7-4 currently with a chance of maybe 7-6" then not affecting change for fear of what the future holds will keep you failing. You have to keep trying to attain your goals even if that dictates changing personnel with the fear that it might not be greener.

History shows that result is more likely to happen rather than getting an up & coming Urban Meyer from Utah.

The next Saban/Meyer may well be Saban disciple(at MSU and Bama) Jim McElwain..doing great things in three years at CSU. Justin Fuente also a fast riser at Memphis. Both have flipped the switch in 3rd years at inherited moribund programs.

I think LSU could get a high quality proven standing HC, one of stature from the Power 5 conferences, yet at current slightly lesser platform. It's a very attractive job.

4.5 million dollars a year for a 4-5 loss season, no thanks. He is being paid top tier pay and producing near bottom results. He has had 2 great seasons and has underachieved with talent that just about any coach could have a modicum of success

I can say that the grass may not be greener but watching paint dry is more entertaining than our offensive production

I understand, but the expectations of fans are different now. LSU has decided to pay a lot of money for a coach so there is an inherent expectation by fans to challenge for titles.

All of those schools have major programs to compete with in state.. and don't have exactly have the same talent pool as Louisiana.

What about FSU, BAYLOR, UCLA, AUB, A&M. Whoever the next coach at LSU is wont have a problem recruiting top classes.

Florida, really??
So you are saying it was a mistake to fire Ron Zook? They replaced him with a coach who won them two national championships.

No, that cant be it, so what was Florida's mistake? You saying they should have kept Muschamp?

Nebraska is a dead program, you are not going to get kids to go to live in Nebraska now that every school is on tv, it is a totally different time now than it was back in the days they were dominating. I think Bo Pelini is doing about as well as can be expected there.

LSU hired the best up and coming coach in the nation after they fired McClendon, unfortunately he died in a plane crash, you cant predict that. It was not a mistake to move on from McClendon, in his 18 years at LSU he only had 4 seasons where he didnt lose at least 3 games and in three of those seasons he had a tie. He NEVER won 10 games. Why are LSU fans always willing to settle for second best (or third, fourth, fifth, etc. ) in fear of striving for the best?

Why is it silly? Its not that hard to replace a coach who averages 3 losses a season.

Miles can't be replaced bc he pens love letters to the entire city of Baton Rouge (even North BR) and his dunces eat that shite up.
