Sue Gunter built that program. She would have won at least one tourney if not for Summit being at Tennessee.

Tamika Johnson was a very good guard on those teams too. They had good depth and were well coached.

Yeah. They have a decent shot at making the tournament, and I couldn't help but notice they have a nice class coming in.

With that said I'm glad Geno publicly humiliated Fargas. We should have never been in this situation of hoping to make the tournament in the first place.

I take it Demoss is an elite recruiter?

I didn't need Geno to tell me that. I have eyes.

Agree, but maybe the "pokes in Aleva's eyes" by Geno will have an impact?

Another below .500 season will easily do that.

It's a tragedy to think we had both Seimone and Sylvia together for multiple years and still couldn't win it all. Watching us choke away the national semifinal against Tennessee in 2008 was heartbreaking.

Same thing that got Pat Summitt's son Tyler canned at La. Tech. Inappropriate relationship with a player.

Mainieri, Fargas, and Jones should all be let go this year.

LSU needs Pokey now. She can lick this problem and fix it.

Our coach is vastly over rated! If some had balls at LSU they would give her walking papers.

And that's where it stops. The great LSU run was not a "great program" run it was simply because we had the two greatest players in program history show up at the same time. When you only need 5 and 2 are GOATS it makes you forget that LSU was really not very good before the arrival or after the departure.

This is not true^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It depends one what you consider to be "not very good"

1997-1998 - Sweet Sixteen
1999-2000 - Elite Eight
1998-1999 - Sweet Sixteen

Those years^^^^^^^^^^^^
We had Marie Ferdininand (who was a first team All American) Elaine Powell (first team All SEC), Pietra Gay, Katrina Hibbert, and a few others. The year before Augustus got here we made it to the SEC tournament championship game and the second round of the NCAA (2000-2001). We were never a national championship caliber team, but those teams would wipe the floor with what we currently have. We were a perennial top 20 team.........sometimes top 15. What we have now would barely crack the top 50.

Ask Arkansas about that. Booby's side piece had already graduated and his was still fired with cause.
