The CWS has special meaning this year

Growing up in Baton Rouge, LSU sports always had a special meaning. This CWS has been a little more special. My mother, a lifelong Tiger fan is in a life of death battle with cancer. Yesterday she had 4 liters of fluid drained off of her stomach, yet the only thing she was concerned about was making it back home by 2:00 to watch her Tigers. She is in constant pain and discomfort, however, when LSU takes the field she is all smiles. This has been a beacon in a terrible storm.
Thanks to the 2017 Tigers for great run. Mom starts another round of Chemotherapy on Tuesday but I guarantee you she will not miss that game. Let's Finish This!

I told myself I'm not dying until LSU wins another football championship (or beats Alabama), but hopefully the baseball tigers bring it home for your mom this year

I got in a headon collision with an 18 wheeler back in 2000. Broke everything pretty much, almost bled to death. Watched the tigers win it all from a room over at our lady of the lake and vividly remember that being the one thing keeping me from going damn near crazy. Prayers for your mother, do what you can to be there with her for the games. Go tigers!!

Our stories are similar Snapper. My Mom was a passionate LSU baseball fan. She and my sister who moved to Orlando years ago would text each other play-by-play with running commentary for every single LSU game, even the mid-week ones.
She passed last Thursday and this run is a constant comfort to us as we know the joy it is bringing to her and to us as a means of keeping her with us.
