He is one of the best DC's in the country. Fact. Our offense will look better in the second half of most games this season than it did against State. He's that good. LSU fans are in for a helluva season!

I think he got the shaft and was the scapegoat at Texas, and a good DC, but I'm not sure I'd call him one of the best.

Are original thought and analysis foreign concepts to the Rant?

Look to what he did at La Tech last year. Dude can flat coach. Had very good D at State on his prior tour, also.

I agree with this. Miss St is well coached all around, the maximize the talent they have. They end up getting all of the 2nd tier players after LSU/Bama/AU/FL all get their pickings but still compete at a high level

What? LSU's 2014 record of 8-5 would be the 2nd best season Miss st has had since Mullin got there.

Remember when BYU ran for like 500 yards on Texas when he was there?

Actually that's what got him fired I think

Check the D stats at La Tech. Texas' program is and has been a slow motion train wreck. He couldn't stop that. Steele had a bad outing at Clemson...fricking Clemson. Does that put him in a negative category for his career?

So if we want teams to run on us we should load the box? I guess OC's have decided to hell with looking for advantages

Running against blitz packages is "bad"? Novel thought...

when a team thinks you are running, but you have a pass play called, and then you check to a run I consider that "bad" strategy

But hey apparently the football geniuses on the rant think checking pass plays down to runs against run blitzes is a good move...no wonder some of you have no issues with the offense

Really don't disagree. But, read Miles comments referring to the QB play...basically said we "need to run more of the called plays". We'll see less check downs this Sat , I expect.

It's what he said...basically wanted BH to have confidence in the called plays more often.
