LSU needs the SEC, SEC doesn't need LSU.

There are plenty of teams that would kill to be in the SEC right now. LSU is already in a financial crisis but take that away and just look at it from an Athletic stand point.

You lose the big games with Alabama which is a national televised game a year and replace with Texas? They aren't relevant enough for a nationally televised game. Replace the Auburn game with who? Baylor... TCU? How about the Florida game with OU? Ok ok I'll give you that one. How about the Ole Miss rivalry with Okie state.

Do not want! None of those games are appealing unless they are non conference games. I have no desire to see LSU and Iowa state or Kansas or Texas Tech

IDGAF what conference LSU is in as long as they still win games in multiple sports. I'm by no means an SEC homer.

The article leaves out a very important point: As incest-driven as the Bama-SEC relationship is, it's easier to deal with and accept that, than it is to deal with the superiority complex of the University of Texas.

This might be a decent idea if the SEC and the Big12 were on an even playing field. LSU would have to get a cut of the Longhorn Network to even come close to matching the money from the SECN.

I have another crazy idea which will likely never happen.

LSU should lead the way in forming the GCC, Gulf Coast Conference. It would be made up of teams from schools in states that border the gulf. Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi St, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida St, Miami, and throw in another Louisiana school to round out the numbers and give every state at least 2 schools.

How 'bout it? GCC all the way.

#StillaBetterIdeaThanLSUtoBig12

eta: Maybe throw in a couple of cupcake schools that are good at one non-football sport and not much else. Vandy/Kentucky caliber.

How about we kick Alabama out and over to the Big 12 instead? Problem solved!

Wow, so are some of you like 12. LSU is a founding member of the greatest conference in the history of sports. You want to leave to play in a conference barely above the WAC. Can't wait for that annual showdown with TCU, Baylor, Okie State. Wow, that conference blows.

I'll take our annual Florida game any day.

When is the last time any of you defectors watched a full Saturday of games while LSU was away or idle? I bet 90% of the games you watched were SEC games and never even thought about switching over to the FOX Sports horrible presentation of Kansas vs Baylor or Iowa State vs TCU.

You beat me to it. Just kick bamas arse out I'm sure we could get UT and AU on that bandwagon just as easily as obtaining the arky partnership. But interesting discussion on both sides of this one and the reality is that's all it will ever be...

Substitute Texas with Alabama and you have a list of the problems LSU would have with the big 12. Texas has an incredibly one sided deal with the big 12.

The Big 12 doesn't absolutely frick other schools over in favor of Texas. The Big 12 offices aren't in Texas' back yard.

I hate the SEC, and the bullshite LSU has to deal with despite being a founding member.

That said, we are where we belong.

People will joke about the article, but let's face it- The SEC has become all about Bama and it should be a crime that the SEC office is right there by Bama land...
