It rained most of the day/night of the opener against ULM so we ended up staying at the Pastime much longer than usual. We had one more ticket than needed and ended up trading to sit in the South Endzone (just under overhang).

As we loaded onto shuttle, a guy crossing the road got hit really hard and we thought he wouldn't make it (but ended up surviving).

When we got to our seats, the stiff mist of Tiger Stadium ensued and we felt lucky to be covered from it in our traded seats during the hour delay. We had just poured all of our flasks into the big cokes and heard Borne mention that fans would be allowed to re-enter. One of our buddies tried to recruit us to make a trip to the nearest gas station but we all decided to stay put. He took off by himself and came back as the game was starting back up with full flasks.

That may not have been the best moment but was a pretty good start.

As mentioned, Eli tripping over his feet late in the 4th was a great moment. I was starting to get really nervous that he was about to lead them to a game-winning TD. It was one of those games that I finally exhaled after holding my breath for about an hour.

Much like the Saints in 2009, one early game said to me...hmmm this is different.

For the Saints it was the road game at Miami. Old Saints would have NEVER won that game.

For 2003 LSU it was on the road at Zona. This was a Power 5 team on the road and LSU destroyed them. I mean took them apart piece by piece. It was a masterful performance. Might be the best road performance of the last 50 years it was that dominate.

That's the game where I said this team could win it all if they played like that.

and really other than the first UGA game, UF and on the road at Ole Miss they dominated everyone else just like that Zona game.

Wow, that was one trashy-arse Auburn team. That is a direct reflection of Tubs.

L-S-U chant after UGA 91 yd screen. Complete turnaround of attitude from the negativity of the 90's.

I remember thinking that this was the best LSU team I had ever seen during that game. The way LSU's defense was coming off the line was incredible. At the hike, there was a collective "pop" of our line hitting their line, and their line was shoved back every time.

I had never seen LSU physically dominate a decent opponent with such power and precision, and knew then that we had a special team. Still, a national championship was beyond my wildest dreams at the time. I was hoping it would mean we'd win the West.

I had a concussion at the championship game and was way down in the student section. When Corey Webster caught the first interception, the dome erupted. The next thing I knew, the field went blurry, then I remember seeing the ceiling. I couldn't talk for a week after that game. Only other time I have been that hoarse was after the 2003 Georgia game

The Auburn-LSU rivalry was at an all-time high during that stretch. What's strange is that a few of those games were blowouts (both ways).

Back-to-back 31-7 games, IIRC. Aubie wins 2002, we win 2003.

I will always remember Lavalais destroying Cadillac Williams in the backfield on a 4th down attempt, giving us great field position. We were up 31-0 after 3 quarters. Then Brandon Jacobs (3rd string behind CW and Ronnie Brown) coming in the 4th and getting a TD against our 3rd string in garbage time.

That national championship game - went to nola with friends last minute. Only spot we found to watch it was the sports bar above the riverwalk. Oklahoma alumni had claimed it as their bar. Those people were the sorest of losers. Sat in the middle of the room next to a column. TVs in the room were in corners. We stood to see over the tables that were in front of the TVs. They complained to the managers that we were standing the whole game. At end of game a 50 year old Oklahoma lady poured an entire pitcher of water down my back. Turned around and she was crying. Threw the pitcher down and left. Honest to God, we did nothing but cheer for LSU. No shite talking. Great memory

Aside from the big ones mention I remember Chad lavalais being a frickin beast.

Meeting Cadillac in the backfield and driving him back 10 yards

Addai trucking the shite out of someone on a run up the middle
against zona

I was 13 and remember leaving the stadium with my dad after the Florida loss and hearing him on the phone saying "mauk just can't bring us to the promised land" still give him shite for that

Clayton blowing up 2 secondary Arkansas players on a block springing Justin Vincent for a score. He looked back staring them down as he walked toward the sideline and they just sat on their arse like wtf just happened

Forget who delivered the hit but the sound it made when south carolinas qb got PUNISHED scrambling and throwing a deep ball

The assistant coaches getting everyone fired the eff up on the sideline before Arkansas and the punter was right in the middle getting the most hype

Muschamp being so fired up in the natty he almost knocked spears on his arse

Addai's GOAT stiff arm in the first uga game throwing someone off him

Watched the first uga game on tv. After skylers touchdown they had a shot of the student section going absolutely ape shite...and right in the middle was the sign LET THE VALLEY SHAKE. It was perfect. Whoever that beautiful bastard is needs to bring that sign back this year. Let the 34 year old in there students

The epic call on skylers TD in the natty. HERES SKYLER GREEN HES GOT GREAT SPEED, GOT THE CORNER!, GOT THE TURN!!, TOUCHDOWN!!"

I have a vhs I recieved from lsu football camp highlighting this season that's why I remember so much lol

I never understood how the Tigers lost that game. Florida was not that good a team, just milling around with a 3-3 record, and LSU was stellar, 5-0 with a BYE WEEK ADVANTAGE and playing at home.

Not only did LSU lose, the game was not close and the Tigers really played bad.
