How the hell do you F up the schedule next year so blatantly the last year of the current BCS setup? LSU is at a decided disadvantage during the "Temporary scheduling" period. Its debatable wether Tenn will ever reach elite status on a regular basis. Florida is a much stronger opponent than Tenn and Al. knows it.

I see merit in the article. Would not break my heart to stick it to the SEC. Have a hard time seeing it happen though.

I think the sec office should be moved to nashville. Big city, centrally located, nobody cares about vandy, removes the Tuscaloosa taint.

If you think we should leave, you aren't being reasonable. If you think bama is bad, just wait until you see Texas in the big 12 - 2.

Rabalais' article was posted online last night. The printed edition came this morning with this article and a companion article (also written by Rabalais) titled: 5 reasons to stay.

Everyone needs to relax. Rabalais gonna Rabalais. At least it gets the casual fan informed of the problems.

The real clusterfrick in all this is the bowl system and their alliances.

If you want a radical idea, leaving the SEC is not it.

Instead, the SEC should move to expand to thirty or so of the highest profile teams in the country, leave the NCAA, then follow the NFL model. Have four team divisions set up were you play everyone in your division once and rotate the others. This would keep the schedule at twelve games and maintain the annual rivalries.

Now comes the fun part. Screw the bowls and have a twelve team playoff, again according to the NFL playoff model with a "College Superbowl".

I agree.

LSU will ALWAYS play 2nd fiddle to bama in the conference. Bama has an unfair advantage and many retard fans can't recognize it.

frick the SEC.

How about putting up a fight and calling out Slive and the SEC before pondering any drastic steps. Seems we've been too quiet about this.

At various times other schools are victimized by the BamaBias, (Ole Miss and Arky on officiating bias) , but the money rolls in and they forget the screwing til next time.
If you are going to change this by reforming the SEC, pls. Know that the problem is deeply engrained and incrementalism will not succeed.
The league HQ will have to move and Slive will have to be removed.
Slive is smart and capable, but unwilling to take on the Alabama powers who surround him.

Yeah, and the Cowboys just got lucky to stay in the NFC East instead of Carolina, Detroit and Atlanta so they could play in the big East Coast TV markets and make more money and get more TV exposure

Because Joe Alleva is about as good of an example of a suck up, company "yes man" - as there ever was. I've said this from day one. Yeah, he's made things happen here, but he's a fricking wet vagina when it comes to standing up for LSU. Skip was light years ahead of Alleva in that category.

Agree. But LSU can make this a lot easier by beating the crap out of Bama a couple years in a row. I don't recall this being an issue when Bama was irrelevant (most of the last decade).

The point about beating the bias AND Bama is well taken, except we shouldn't have to ...
What's wrong with demanding a level playing field?
And maybe Ala. has gotten strong enough again, so it doesn't need the help.
It's our league, too, at least in theory.

Nothing wrong with demanding it. Should be a level playing field. But given Bama's success, its even harder to fight than usual.

Theses schedules aren't "rotated", or luck of the draw. The original 2012 schedule had Bama playing at A&M for their first ever SEC game. Bama didn't want it, so they moved the game to Tuscaloosa later in the year

I'm sure this Rabalais article is the start of an LSU campaign to alert the national media to the special treatment granted to Bama in this conference

I hope so.

Nothing will change until the national media starts to question what is going on down here.

Pretty fricking stupid to release it on Christmas day. I doubt many CFB writers are paying attention to anything work related today.

Just wait until the SEC forces LSU to take part in A&M's Thanksgiving Night tradition.

Yep. This is coming, and it will suck. Who the frick wants to play on Thanksgiving? Aggies.
