Wonder if Arkansas would go with us?

Again...if Bama and Tenn want to play every year they can schedule it as a non conference game.
Simple, then we would find out how important that game really is.

LSU should only leave if we have the money to leave. And, we don't! The SEC pays us a small fortune to stay. Now, if I were a middle eastern sultan with trillions , I would give LSU 100 million a year and we'd go to the Big 12. Tell the SEC to go eff themselves .

LSU isn't going anywhere, there's just too much money involved.

What we do need to do is come to terms with the reality that the SEC is never going to give us anything that we have not absolutely earned on the field, then we have to go out and earn it. This should drive us in all sports.
Then when we win it all despite all their bullshite we can shove it right back in their faces.

The Oakland Raiders did it to the NFL in the 60's, 70's and 80's and became one of the most celebrated and successful franchises. We need to adopt that same attitude toward the SEC.

Take what they think will weaken us and use it to make ourselves that much stronger.

Forget about permanent opponent. They recently scheduled LSU to play at Georgia and Alabama to go to Kentucky. Given the fact that LSU was already playing Fla, it would have been fair and common sense to send Alabama to Georgia and LSU to Kentucky but this was done by design to give Alabama a big advantage. Few teams would have accepted such inequality. The fact is if you play easy schedule you are going to be at the top and the rest of country only sees where you are ranked and it impacts everything including recruiting.

The bowl alignment this year just didn't favor LSU when looking at the bigger picture which is the whole conference. I like the bowl matchups the SEC has overall.. Nut up and quit whining.

Actually the people who take this stance are doinh so because LSU has been screwed in bowls before. This isnt the only time weve slid to a lower tier sec bowl.

Now i like ATL so i dont give a shite. Id rather play there than in orlando. Leaving the sec would be foolish. shite we will prob win the sec next year.

Not reading this entire thread, but whoever agrees with us leaving the SEC, should go put their dick in a blender.

Maybe Rabalais column will get some of these issues addressed. Screw the SEC until they fix these scheduling issues and properly support all of their member institutions.

Agreed.

One of the problems many ranters have is the inability to use discernment. Everything Rabalais mentions is legit. And I would add the SEC regularly dismisses one of CFB's great traditions - night games in TS.

That said, we fit best in the SEC and I'd much prefer to remain in the SEC and fix the problems. I'm not sure what the solution is (that's what Alleva is paid to do I think - maybe he should encourage the band to play Neck often during afternoon games?).

PS: for those who immediately dismiss the notion of leaving the SEC, how much mistreatment are you willing to endure before you would consider leaving? It's a question worth asking.

LSU contributes more than its share to the SEC.
Nobody but nut cakes think leaving is a real solution, but truth is, we deserve better. And the whole conference deserves better than this persistent homerism by the Birmingham Bunch.
The Bammers will mostly dismiss this as whining, b/c they are the primary beneficiaries, but, honestly, THEY deserve better, too.
If Bama is as good as they claim, they don't need the close calls, the Mulligan games, the cream puff scheduling. That UGA and UA made the SECCG with each having easy schedules is not coincidence.
We don't need to leave.
We need to reform the SEC.
And since Slive refuses to even address it, he must go first.

SEC Office in Birmingham

Dude with most influence over scheduling in said SEC office is a Bama grad. (Bama schedule is consistently weaker than LSU. FACT)

Steroid use and it's punishment up to wide discretion of staff for all NCAA Fooball teams. Bama with a ton of discretion

Top it all off with ESPN's full support of $a bun.

Clearly something needs to happen to level the playing field.
