Thought Martin was huge last night. His all around game was the best seen this year. Now bring that level of intensity and savvy to every game we have left and lead this team to the NCAA Tourney. We absolutely need to Have THIS Martin the rest of the way.

If he plays like that every game I don't know how any other sec team other than UK can beat us.

Gotta feed the biggs. This is priority number one for this years team. It MUST be their identity from here out.

It started against Bama and they were pretty successful against UK game until the very end.

3 point attempts against Bama- 9
against UK-10

That's what you want with this team. More 3s next year with Blakeney.

The only complaint is that he disappeared in the final 9:00 of the game. He only took one shot even though he was clearly LSU's best player at the time. You just can't run away from the ball in those moments

But I agree, when he is assertive he is a a tough matchup. He looks to me like he is a guy that has kind of coasted on natural ability throughout his young basketball career. Last night he knew he couldn't just "show up" against UK and play well. He doesn't seem to be a bad kid at all. He probably just needs someone to kick him in the arse game after game to get him to reach his full potential

I agree. My thing is will he play like that against every other time? Its easy to get up for the #1 team in the country, its the other teams I am concerned about.

My enduring thought from the game is JMart getting crammed under the goal by Towns and missing the rebound

That just can't be done. There are emotional ebbs and flows to a season. We were sky high for UK (this one game has been circled on the schedule since the beginning), but it's just not possible to bring that level of intensity every single game. I wish it were different, but it's just human nature.

It's the same for football. We get up for Bama, Auburn, maybe A&M. But we're flat against some other teams. It's just natural.

By the way, be on the lookout for a huge emotional letdown this Saturday at Tennessee. Going on the road after a huge emotional game is very dangerous (football example: Arkansas this year after Bama)

It also helped that there were 48 pro scouts there

Yep that's my complaint of Martin, is he shies away form the ball and goes missing for stretches of games. The majority of his points he's taking advantage of his size and athletism around the bucket, but he wants to shoot the outside shot or drive to the hoop from the arc, he's got a lot of work to finalize that part of his game. Another year of work would be great but I fear he is gone

Well based on our propensity to shite the bed against clearly inferior teams, I think you have your answer.
