Texas Offensive Holding...?

I was screaming at the TV most of the game over the constant, flagrant holding by the Texas O-line...actually tackling more than once. The officials finally began to call it some late but the no-calls bailed out the Texas offense over & over again.

I heard nothing from the announcers about it and only a few comments from sportswriters. Mike Scarborough was the only one I've seen who actually points out the tackling by the O-line of Chaisson & others. Was this not as obvious as it seemed to me? I've seen nothing here either.

It was obvious and posted all over the score board last night.

The SEC refs were in mid season form showing us a glimpse of how they will allow aTm, Bama, Florida, and auburn to scheme against our d line.

Even herbstriet pointed it out when looking at some replays. They got away with a lot on the edges that if it’s called properly early in the game would have changed the situation up front.

Many here will say our DL sucks and we had no pass rush. I agree with you. I saw Chaisson grabbed & held onto outside of his pads, at least 7 times.

Maybe a bit but if we’re honest, their oline easily handled our dline except
goal line.

Chaisson was held by the jersey on every play. SEC refs are obviously instructed to call holding only if the blocker tackles the defender. That’s the only time holding was called and it was late in the game. Given this fact of life, Aranda needs to figure out a technique to break em loose.

They’re coached to hold at a professional level. Was obvious to me on a few occasions, but so long as the refs call it the same both ways, it is what it is.

The holding is ridiculous. It is not going to,change. They will not call holding on Bama in Tuscaloosa.

I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it over the course of a whole game. It wasn't like just the odd missed call, they were actively not calling blatant (beyond the norm) holding, hooking, and just flat out tackling

To be fair the refs let it go both ways. I like it when they let the players play like they did last night.

Where the hell do you think the term "Hook-Em" came from?

Yea but they rarely call holding these days. Everybody knows how to get away with it.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed it. It was ridiculous! Every play, one or more of our guys was being held. As others said, they finally started calling it late but only after players started going to the ground.

What part of holding do you not understand? Impossible to get a rush when you are getting tackled.

or maybe we should hold more, especially against bama and keep our qb in one piece. Really most penalties these days are thrown to help the offenses score more points for ratings. Holding I think is overlooked because it keeps the star qb's healthy, on camera and scoreing points.

Yeah, you could have called it "Texas Hold Em".
