TD Rewind: Michael Kopech throws the ball 110 MPH, Closing in on Tyler Hanover

White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech, the 33rd overall pick in the 2014 draft, threw the ball 110 MPH in a pull-down drill, a video of which was posted on twitter today.

If my calculations are correct, that puts him just behind Tyler Hanover in terms of all-time velocity (if you ignore the fact that Hanover did his 130 MPH throw in live action against Kentucky, and this was just a drill). Kopech is still young. Any chance he unseats Hanover?

He wishes he had the velocity and power hitting stroke that Hanover had.

130??
First off, Hanover does not throw 100+, one of the strongest arms in the MLB from the field is Andrelton simmons who gets clocked at 97. Plus Kopech was not throwing a baseball there.

Tyler Hanover never played in the MLB, so I'm not sure that is relevant.

I'm not sure you are cut out for the internet.

Then explain it then. How fast is the ball going from third to first without dropping. It drops at a max of maybe 4 inches about the size of your dick. just kidding about your dick..\

The classic Tigerdroppings "everybody's wrong and clueless but will defend their stance to the death" thread. Love this website

Don't forget about Sidd Finch.

Back when Tyler Hanover was a young boy, he hurdled a ball so hard at his catcher, that the catcher sustained several broken bones and torn ligaments in his catching arm, a collapsed lung and cracked ribs. It was pretty bad, the kid almost died. Since then, Tyler hasn't thrown the ball full-strength at another human being. However, Tyler does take a bag of baseballs and go duck hunting. Also, the U.S.A.F. space program uses Tyler to knock enemy satellites out of commission. It's all right there in his bio on LSUsports.net: Tyler Hanover's bio on LSUsports.net This post was edited on 3/17 at 3:58 pm
this thread is gold

I wasn't here but was shown the thread not long after I joined.

That White Sox dude needs to double his throw speed if he wants to start closing in on Hanover.

Glad you posted that old thread, I was attributing that bit of hilarity to a different poster on here...

That's interesting. It turned out, I had misremembered who had posted that as well.

Are you excited to watch you first LSU baseball game in a month?

All that thread needed was ell to be a total shitshow..

If Ell was on TD at that time and Chinea overlapped with the 2009 team . . . what could have been.
