You do know every state in the south can clame this rt?

No, they can't all say that they're right next to Texas. On the close proximity part, yeah, other states in the south can say that. My point was that when you look at in-state talent, plus proximity to other talent-rich states, LSU is in a great position for recruiting.

That post was just a reply to another post. I'm not even trying to get involved in the firing/hiring talk.

What?

A. If there's a high level player in Georgia, both Georgia Tech and UGA are telling him how perfectly he'd fit into their program. It's how recruiting works and most kids can't differentiate between coachspeak bullshite and reality, hence why you get a guy like Kyle Allen at A&M when he doesn't fit into their scheme at all. Scheme has very little, if anything, to do with recruiting and even if it does it only applies to quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs in UGA/GT's case

And B. Every school deals with people coming into their state and poaching their talent. Not sure why you think Texas, California, Florida, and every other state doesn't deal with that. That doesn't change the fact that every single kid from Louisiana who wants to play major football at an in-state school wants to go to LSU

Can anyone name another college in a talent rich state that doesn't have to worry about another major college taking its recruits?

Ohio State
Ohio has more guys in NFL than LA (straight number not as % of population) and is the only power five school in Ohio

I would put Georgia as honorable mention. Only has to fight off Tech (which runs a completely non pro style gimmicky offense) and GA produces twice as much NFL talent as LA. So I would say that's at least even with LSU

lsu is easily top four - only bama, florida, and texas (no particular order) are better. uga and fsu round up the top 6.

osu and nd are better only if you're a yankee. usc is better only if you prefer bad facilities, weak fan support, and a high cost of living.
