Football and baseball aren't the same. In football size, strength and depth would overpower a high school team. In baseball all it would take is a dominant arm and a few good bats. Best of 5 I would take Grambling but in a single game a high school team like Barbe, West Monroe or any high school team with a stud pitcher could beat Grambling. Think Barbe with say Eric Walker throwing for them last year.

eta : the 92 Catholic High team
Patrick Coogan
Chris Demouey
Tim Lanier
Brad Daugherty
Kevin Ainsworth
Dan Guillory
All went to LSU. They also had at least 2 other players on that team that played at a higher D1 level than Grambling. They didn't even win LA State. So anyone saying Grambling would easily beat a HS team doesn't understand baseball.

The difference between a high school freshman and a college freshman are night and day. Think of a 13 or 14 year old kid playing against a 19 year old? Even though it's Grambling, each of their pitchers can throw 85 and up with off speed. Very tough for a lot of high schoolers to hit.

Yes. They could beat them. It doesn't matter if they're D1 like so many are saying. There are over 300 D1 baseball programs. Many of the best HS players go straight to the pros anyway, and they certainly don't go to programs like Grambling. Like a previous poster stated, many players that go to Grambling were very average in highschool. It doesn't help that they are primarily a black college either. Baseball isn't popular with inner city kids, so there's obviously not a huge talent pool to choose from in the first place.

West Monroe or Barbe?

17 year olds vs 21 year olds. Is the question whether they would win a game against Grambling or would they finish ahead of Grambling in a 56 game schedule against the same opponents? I vote yes for the first question and no for the second.

What doesn't make sense about it? I still think Grambling would beat those HS teams 99 times out of 100. I was just replying to the poster saying that IF it was going to happen it'd be easier in baseball. You only need 9 studs. In order for a college football team to beat a pro team (my previous example), you'd need a bunch more badass college kids. And size, strength, etc. matter much more in football. The difference in levels is far greater.
