I'm so tired of people saying that Auburn got screwed. There were 3 teams deserving that year. Someone had to be left out.

This! Auburn had the misfortune of starting too low in the preseason rankings and having two teams ahead of them go undefeated as well. With 3 top teams undefeated, someone deserving was going to be left out. What I will always remember is how Pete Carroll loved the "system" that year and was a big defender of the BSC after crying how unfair the system was the year before (when OK got in over USC).

It's not bamas fault they got back in. They campaigned and were successful. They were motivated and had the game plan and talent to shut down our offense. What sucks to me is that we had to beat Georgia in the championship for the right to play a team we had already beaten for the championship. The best scenario would have been Bama playing Georgia for the right to play us in the BCS. If we would have had the 4 team playoff, that is going into effect next year, it would probably have been LSU, Bama, Ok State, and Oregon.

The thing that bothers me most is that if Alabama would've came into Death Valley and won the exact same way we did in their house, nobody in the media would've even mentioned a rematch. As soon as the game in t-town was over Tracy Wolfson asked Les what his opinion was on playing Bama again in a rematch. The post-game College gameday crew outside Bryant Denny was also spewing rematch throughout the entire segment.

Whining about others whining when you don't care what they are whining about is even worse bud.
Just saying.

Not sure what you think should've happened in '04. It was an anomalous year with lots of undefeated teams, Auburn was third.

1 and 3 both would have been solved if they had just made a rule that you had to win your conference to play in the title game.

As much as it sucks that they were let back in. We still had the opportunity to beat them that night. Auburn was never given the chance.

That's not an injustice though. USC and OU both played good schedules that year and went undefeated after starting 1 and 2. No real crime there other than no playoff.

2011 is a much bigger travesty than 2004 Auburn. They may not have got a chance, but we ALREADY won.

One of the post game articles said the Bama coaches were telling the players they would get another shot. I remember reading that and thinking "HA! Good luck with that! You just got beat in your home stadium as a 5 point favorite!" Its very telling that they were setting the stage for the rematch so quickly. Hell Les might have even know about the rematch campaign because he was ready for Tracy's question.

Tennessee was probably upset in 2001, they beat us during regualar season and we beat them in SEC Championship game...you gotta play who's in front of you, no excuses.

When it comes down to it LSU won more games with a much more difficult schedule, won in Tuscaloosa, and won a tournament to prove on the field they were the best team in the SEC.

Bama got a do over trophy for playing an uninspired LSU team who had absolutely nothing else to prove. It was a complete slap in the face to Oklahoma St., LSU, and the rest of the teams in the country not named Bama.

Just as the blatant manipulation of the SEC bridge scheduling was a slap in the face. Additionally it has been a blatant slap in the face to other programs for Saban being involved the way he has been in the college football media events when it it the spotlight for other big time programs.
