Syracuse quarterback's acting job

Did anybody else laugh at this guy yesterday. In the fourth quarter he scrambles up the middle for like 15 yards and slides. A LSU player in pursuit puts on his brakes and stumbles into him grazing him on his helmet. The Syracuse QB then falls over as if he is knocked out cold. Flag is thrown. They announce holding on Syracuse. Like cold water hitting a man in an old western movie the QB magically sits up very fast and throws his helmet down.

He gave Greedy a cheap shot on the first play and then flopped the rest of the game whenever anyone came near.

Not only that, it was a pretty obvious flop when Chaisson was flagged for roughing tPasser. Chaisson barely bumped him and he dropped like a sack of potatoes (after he saw the result of the pass, conveniently). K'lavon hit him, but that was not RTP, not by a long shot.

Also, I thought if a player takes his helmet off like the qb did after that run,it was a 15 yd penalty?

This is what happens when you get a rep for stupid penalties AND have youth.

Just wait till FL, they are going to try to suck them in at every turn.

If I was the Syracuse HC or OC I would've instructed my OL to intentionally wall off any DL after a play to impede him from getting back into position. Not only might you draw the personal foul, it tires them out even more, introduces more stress, and you might be able to get an offsides out of it.

Not block him like on a play, but just stand in the way and make eye contact to try and provoke him.

It is. They ruled it came off "during the course of play", which was 'tarded.

This is what these kids have grown up watching, especially in the NBA. When the superstars like LeBron James, James Harden and Chris Paul flop during warm ups and the national anthem, kids are going to follow.

Yeah, lol. That poor acting could make the "c'mon man" highlights if pro ball.

He look like a soccer player when they take a flop and don't get the call.
They bounce right back up like nothing is wrong.

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw the replay. Chaisson was coming full bore and pulled up. He bumped into Dungey, but there's no way in hell that should have been a penalty.

Ordinarily, I'd wonder if the coaches would ask the league office to look at that call (not that it would change anything), but since the game was called by ACC refs, I'm not sure what the procedure would be. Seems like refs are really focused on targeting and roughing this year. In general, I've got no problem with that, but it seems to be getting out of hand.

He also took off his helmet on the field of play, which is a penalty. And slammed it into the ground, which could have been another penalty.
