That can happen. Let's look at some stats, courtesy of ESPN:

LSU time of possession: 23:03
Wis TOP: 36:57

This is big. They simply ran more plays. But was their offense really all that good?

LSU rushing: 126 yards on 29 attempts
Wisc rushing: 134 yards on 42 attempts

LSU's ground game was clearly more productive despite a poor 1st half.

What about that 3rd down efficiency? LSU was 2 for 10, but Wisc was 3 for 15. No difference.

QB play? Yes, Harris threw a costly INT. So did the other guy - one that probably cost them a TD, and another one that led to LSU's first score. Neither QB had a good day, and LSU receivers had more than their share of drops against smaller corners. They had one of the best defenses in the nation last year, fwiw.

The fact is that the game was a close one against a very good team that nobody should have "expected" a win against.

Uh, nah.

We lost to an inferior team that you admitted yourself did not play their best game, and yet they dominated us in almost every phase of the game. Only some timely turnovers and inexperienced QB play gave us a chance. LSU should not find themselves in a position like this against a team who themselves were not playing that great.

Wisconsin will win 10

When we struggled in 2014 everyone said that was a 8 win team but then they won 11

Sure the stats talk. But people that watched the game won't forget what they saw.

Dude, Wisconsin is not a great team, they are Mediocre at best this year. Come back at the end of season and let's ee how they have done. Michigan and OSU for just starters will skull frick them.

They are a middle of the road Big 10 team.

Stop making excuses for Les' ineptitude.

So what's your point? If LSU couldn't beat Wisconsin, what do you think will happen when they play teams in the SEC West.

Nobody should have "expected" Wisky's defense to run freely in LSU's backfield all day long either.

Les Miles is a terrible fricking coach. That's all there is to it. There are more than a handful of coaches who would have dominated Wisky w/ the level of talent at LSU.

How much do you want to bet that Wisconsin wins ten games this regular season?

I will make a ban bet if you are willing to hold up your end of the bargain.

No, they returned 10 out of 22 starters from a team that won ten LAST year. The team we lost to yesterday started a QB taking his first college snap (and looked far better than our veteran junior returning starter) and had to almost completely rebuild on both sides of the ball. And they made our overrated experienced team look like chumps. This bullshite about Wisconsin being a good team is just ridiculous.

There is nothing positive, nothing excusable, nothing justifiable about what happened yesterday. It was utter and complete failure in every possible respect. It portends a team that will be lucky to win more than two SEC games and maybe won't even make it to a bowl game.

Look for lots more post like this after we fart around with sloppy wins over weaker teams in the next month or so.

Doesn't change the fact that we will lost 4 or 5 games.
