After all, would it really be an upset if these 2016 LSU tigers beat Alabama in LSU Tiger Stadium next Saturday night?

After reading about Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff perpetration: (LINK Kleinpeter, NOLA.com Times Picayune

I keep feeling like most of the Sports commentators who keep talking about LSU vs Alabama are doing what they always do by following the front runner until they lose. Then they follow the other winner.

Somehow that became the natural way the media keeps reporting what they cover. If you want to become popular with the media just keep winning. Because you will simply stay among the also-ran if you lose a few otherwise.

So that fact of media life leads us into this college football season when and where the undefeated start dwindling down to the few who either have a weak football schedule and can't help but win if they have a good football team. Along with the other good college football team like LSU with a much harder schedule who are less likely to go undefeated.

All of who become the college football teams who of course will meet in the Final Four College Playoff NCAA Championship

Can this LSU Fighting Tigers Football Team still get to the final four with 2 defeats? Because suppose Alabama stays 11-1, then what?

If they beat Auburn and we win out then we win the west and go to Atlanta. We win there then we are SEC champions. We probably face a well rested Bama in round one of the playoffs.

With a premium now being placed on winning the conference championship, I'm optimistic that a 10-2 LSU SEC Champion would edge out an 11-1 Bama non-SEC Champion when LSU won head to head.

I hope you're right. But Auburn looks like a different team now. 56-3 against Arky is probably in ole miss's heads. I can't wait to watch that one.

Easy... LSU to Atlanta for SECCG. If LSU wins, LSU to CFB playoff. Alabama stays home unless they get in over one of the other conference champs (which would be highly unlikely because of not winning their conference). Alabama would certainly not get in over LSU.

The CFB playoff WILL be 4 conference champions. The only question is which of the 5 conference champions gets left out. The only way the SEC champ gets left out is if the other 4 conference champs are undefeated. If there is even ONE 1-2 loss conference champ, 2-loss LSU as SEC champ is getting in.

If LSU wins out and Auburn loses another game, and we finish as a 2 loss SEC Champ, the SEC could easily be left out of the playoffs. I don't think they vote LSU in over a 1 loss conference champ from the Big12, Big10, ACC, or PAC12. And I don't think they vote Alabama in as a 1 loss team that didn't win its conference and would have lost a game late in the year.

No... they would be 10-2. LSU lost a game by replacing the South Alabama game with Florida. Same as last year with the Mcneese game being cancelled.

Even in that scenario, I think the 11-1 Alabama would still find a way into the CFP.

It would take a lot to keep an SEC team out of the CFP.

To say "certainly" is a stretch.

If 'Bama loses by 3 in OT at LSU, playoff committee might give them a pass because they'd have only 1 loss. We all know that 'Bama gets one mulligan per year.
