What makes you think I wallow in misery, moron?

I had a good day. I'm about to meet my girl and eat Mexican food. I'm helping friends move into their nice new house this weekend. I'm good.

Everything's great outside of lsu football. I'd just rather lsu football not go to shite under the leadership of clowns.

I so fricking tired of posters saying this shite.

In layman's terms: I know we are going to suck but if we don't I'll say how awesome we are....

Eat crow......like how noble of you.

I think I'd switch the second half against Alabama for 1 more second on the clock against Auburn

The good:
1) Les is gone and he took his Flinstone's offense with him along with his inattention to detail.
2) Until proven otherwise, Orgeron is a great recruiter and should keep us well stocked.
3) We kept Aranda.

The bad or uncertain:
1) Does Orgeron have the goods as a head coach- temperament, organizational skills, attention to detail, game managment etc?
2) Are these first few stumbles (the confusion about QB recruitment, and offensive style) a bad omen?

Worst case: Even at Ole Miss, he recruited well enough to leave Houston Nutt with good enough athletes to appear in two consecutive Cotton Bowls. If he fails, there should be enough talent for a quick turnaround.
Hopefully it won't come to that. We have to let it play out. None of the other candidates (beyond Herman or Fisher) were a sure thing either.

I can't convince you we are headed the right way. that's because I don't know. just a point, when nick saban was hired I would have said the exact same thing; ditto with les miles.

the ONLY coach I would have said for sure we were headed the right way was jimbo fisher. and that was because he was a PROVEN HC and a PROVEN offense guy and QB developer.

while I am noted dismayed by hiring coach O nor do I give a damn about this binder myth thing I am concerned that we way NOT be headed the right way. yes, part of that is his ole miss record but it's bigger than that. it's the OC thing. I have grave doubts that lane kiffin is the right hire for LSU. and I damn sure do not like "waiting" for him. I think we should find the right guy regardless of HIS timetable. I don't give a rats arse if he finds himself unemployed or not. while he does check the right boxes as far as experience in a power spread system his immaturity and lack of trustworthiness is a huge concern to me.

so my take is probably a lot different than many on this board who seem to think that Tom Herman was the only way to go and now think Kiffin is the only way to go.

I get all that and what others are saying.

I'm actually more concerned with the leadership of lsu above Orgeron than Orgeron himself.

Your concern is not unwarranted.

Alexander, Alleva, O, Fat Goebbels aren't in the same universe as Emmert and other leadership we've enjoyed since the turn of the century. We made great strides to get beyond the penny pincher loser mentality of Joe Dean, and now we've lost all that progress.

Exactly.

Our leaders were Mark Emmert, Skip Bertman, and Nick Saban.

Now it's F King Alexander, Joe Alleva, and Ed Orgeron.

That's a major step down in leadership.

I agree with this... However, how do you know that LSU will not be as good or better with O than they were with Miles?????

I honestly believe the first person that we need to get rid of is F King Alexander. Starts at the fricking top.

Everyone judges Ed O off his performance at Ole Miss. But, I dont see how that is fair. Ole Miss is in the hardest division in football. Most coaches would fail there. The only reason Freeze has done OK is because he cheated.
Orgeron learned how to run a program from Pete Carroll. And if he adopts a lot of the same practices as Carroll I dont see why he couldnt be successful. Lsu set several offensive records and posted more yards in several games than Les Miles ever did. And this was all with a playbook he had to adopt from Cameron and Miles.
Plus we have Aranda. We are still DBU. We are stocking up on 5 star defensive line recruits and tall elite receivers. If we get a solid OC, Cam Akers, and LBs we will be elite in the next couple of years.
