With the exception of this last one, no single posts even attempts to debate the idea itself. And to that point, onside kicks don't need to be "perfect" in fact 26% of all onside kicks are recovered. If you catch your opponent off guard, that number rises to 60%.

That doesn't mean what you think it means. To catch someone off guard with an onside kick means you line up normal, go thru your regular motion, and the kicker bunts the ball in hopes that the opponents front lines bails deep, not lining up for an onside kick. Do yourself a favor. The next time you think you have a good idea and want to post it, don't. TIA

You are prime example of what's wrong with this board.

Why do you feel the need to be such a dick?

It was a legitimate original post.
Do you think it's funny or does it make you feel powerful behind that keyboard?

It was a stupid OP. In fact, OP's like this one is the reason this board is unbearable and people like you, who think this is legit, & the OP are called Rantards. Its incredibly stupid to think that we should call a fricking onsides kick when we don't have to. Then the OP backed it up with stats, that are probably false anyway, to prove his point, but the stats he used don't even apply to the situation he first posted about.

Thats why i called this dumb arse idea out.

Kicking off is important, my hope would be that we can consistently kick it into the end zone and thus eliminate run backs. Make them start the drive from the 20. No short field for a score. Field position is critical, i am counting on Wing to keep them backed up on punt exchange. suspect defensive battle with lots of punts but will have to wait to see.

... I'm merely suggesting we line up in the onside look to force a special team unit that has NEVER practiced moving from deep recover into onside return to burn a timeout.

Anyone who wants to justify the OP please start off by justifying this statement. TIA.

When you start off with assumptions that FAIL miserably, you can't save the plan.

Conversely, if I had suggested 4 years ago we run a fake FG where the holder tosses it behind his head to the kicker, it would've been met with a similar response...
