Agree, it's prob a 50/50 shot for success vs. failure. We'll have to wait and see.

Some of you are too dumb for your own good. This was not a slam piece, nor was it intended to be.

It was intended to show that Studrawa'a background is not typical for an offensive coordinator. Especially relative to Fisher, Crowton and Kragthorpe.

I didn't waste my time reading the article. So what did he say that an OC must look like?
Wasn't a sound bite so it may not resonate with you.

Whats looks have to do with anything? I saw him interviewed, and I love his intensity. Guy is stepping in at a time of need, and this guy is talking about looks....jeez!

I knew who wrote the article before I even clicked the link

It was actually a fairly positive article. Especially for GG.

I agree with both comments. Wasn't expecting to agree with the second one though.

It was an informative article. Makes me feel better about Stud, not only as a position coach (He'll continue to coach OL) but as emergency OC. In reality though, we all know it going to Tri-Co OC's (Milestudthorpe) and we'll have to wait and see how it all plays out in S.E.C. games.

BTW, one fact that eludes the "Posi-Masses" on here is that the job of a sportswriter is not to serve as a cheerleader for the schools they cover and what some people see as being "Negative" is simply telling it like it is. Being a controversial negative jerk stirs people up, creates interest and sells papers. This is encouraged by most newspaper Editors, as any of you out there that have ever worked in the journalism profession well know. I bet we have to 2 largest coordinators in the Country with Stud on offense and Chavis on defense.

Big eaters!

I suppose Guilbeau would prefer Charlie Weis. George Seifert never looked like a coach either. What does an OC look like? I think I am going to like Stud. Just a couple of seasons have passed since most wanted him gone as line coach.

Stud said a lot of the right things, IMO, in his interview. We heard some of th same stuff from Crowton about getting the ball to playmakers, but Stud actually convinces me that they will do it. I'm not sure that this won't actually help us. It laser focuses Krag on JJ/QBs and gives the O to someone more familiar with the pieces.

Have you ever seen Guilbeau?

A great OC doesn't have to look like a chess player, 50% of it is having the respect of your players, sounds like he has that covered. I hope he is a good recruiter.

"Bush comes up to shake hands with Greg and says, 'Boy, what do you coach?'"

STUDRAWA: "Offensive line, Mr. President."

BUSH: "Well, you're big enough and ugly enough to be an offensive line coach."

This is when Peveto got worried.

"Bush was smiling and joking around, but Stud didn't think it was too funny," Peveto said.

"He kind of looked at Bush like he might want to hit him. But that's the president of the United States. What do you do? What do you say to him?"

Studrawa basically took a knee and did nothing. This is not how he plans to approach the 2011 season and his new job.

"We want to attack people," he said.

I hope our offense takes on Stud's demeanor this season and punches some mofo's in the face.

If Bush truly said that to him, he should have punched Bush in the neck. Bush was and is a total D bag.
