The worst hit areas aren't event close to the stadium.
I know the water treatment facility 2-3 miles away is completely flooded in.
I hope the game is played in Williams Brice though. Would be a shame to move it.

Actually when it comes to flooding and natural disasters I think there are a lot of people on this board who probably know what they are talking about. I don't think the game gets moved either, but it's not gonna shock me if it does. Yes, the water will be gone. But its a logistics issue for everyone and obviously that's why it could get moved
LSU is gonna stomp the gamecocks no matter where its played so just get over it

So they're not evacuating the campus because of lack of running water?
According to USC's own website, no.

If you've watched the weather channel in the last 5 or so years you know they gave up on actually reporting weather related issues and focusing on dramatic stories about the weather. So, what likely happened is they had to evacuate a few small facilities or houses near the river and TWC says "CAMPUS IS EVACUATING"...

I wasn't aware of this. Wouldn't having the game in that area still be a drain on resources though?

The stadium is 3 miles away from campus.

Worst case scenario the game is played in an empty Williams-Brice stadium

Milton's stadium is fairly large, field turf surface. I would think they could have it at Lakewood Stadium or somewhere closer to downtown. McEachern in Cobb County has a large stadium.

Columbia is a metro area of 500k+, the flooding is localized, so nearby agencies are available to assist and resources are already being restored today.
River is expected to crest today if it hasn't already.

Instead of being a DICK...Why don't you put in some real solutions to the situation and give details on how the whole area is being affected.............

But he is right. Yall don't know what yall are talking about. The stadium hasn't been affected at all.
It is better to look at local news instead of national news and the weather channel when it comes to stories like this.

That is irrelevant and not what people are talking about. No way in hell they play this game in any empty stadium

Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte would be a good alternative site. It's about an hour and thirty minutes away and probably available for saturday.
The radar is showing heavy rain over Charlotte. If they're going to move the game, might as well move it somewhere that is clearly out of the path of rain.

The area hardest hit and where all the crazy flooding is taking place is not in downtown Columbia but in Forest Acres and areas north of Columbia. It was caused by several dams collapsing. That's where houses are submerged and roads washed away and isn't remotely close to the stadium

Any chance of practice being interrupted this week? Im guessing they'll just practice in door and won't be an issue

It won't be an empty stadium. There will be 85,000 in the stadium for at least the first half.

It is supposed to be sunny and warm starting tomorrow. But in any event, they have the indoor practice facility. The worst of the flooding really is localized along some of the city's creeks where the dams flooded. Campus and the stadium/practice areas weren't really affected at all yesterday.
The airports weren't even affected by the storm. The interstates are closed just as a precaution until the rivers crest and they can double check that the bridges are stable.
